eoghanroe Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 So, the back of my car (74 Targa) is looking a bit bare and I'm wondering what the correct badges are.I believe that there should be a 2.7 badge on the grille. Is that it?Thanks in advance,Eoghan
turboT Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 This one has a 911 under the grill?http://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/da/danschmitt/405708-13.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.schmitt.com/viewimage.asp?ID%3D5066&h=600&w=800&tbnid=AhJ3wcFPeqzPMM:&docid=ixeghlCgWEUidM&hl=en&ei=ybn_Vb-CBISb0gThvIUw&tbm=isch&client=safari&ved=0CFEQMygrMCtqFQoTCP-K8YTVh8gCFYSNlAodYV4BBg

Harvs11 Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 If you don't want to drill holes in your freshly painted lid, you could cut the pins off the badge and attach it with some good quality double sided foam tape. Use the badge as a template for the tape, cutting slightly smaller than the perimeter.
eoghanroe Posted 21September, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 Thanks guys. This one has a 911 under the grill?http://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/da/danschmitt/405708-13.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.schmitt.com/viewimage.asp?ID%3D5066&h=600&w=800&tbnid=AhJ3wcFPeqzPMM:&docid=ixeghlCgWEUidM&hl=en&ei=ybn_Vb-CBISb0gThvIUw&tbm=isch&client=safari&ved=0CFEQMygrMCtqFQoTCP-K8YTVh8gCFYSNlAodYV4BBgHmm... Seems to be the right one. Seeing more black ones than chrome though.I thought this was an SC badge but I'm probably wrong. Whatever one I go for I won't be drilling anything. I've used a 3M double-sided foam in the past and it was great - very strong and didn't harm the paint.

Dreamr Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 I can't comment if that is the right one, but I can tell you that an SC badge says "911SC".

81SC Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 Sierra Madre have been an excellent resource for my restoration & very helpful with the Aussie import rules.http://www.sierramadrecollection.com/911-930-74-89-/Emblems-Decals/Factory-ID-Plates-Emblems-Decals/911-Emblem-74-75-p18253.html
eoghanroe Posted 22September, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 22September, 2015 Sierra Madre is a dangerous site. Shipping is pretty steep for a badge or two, especially with the current exchange rates.I think I'll hold off and get a few bits in one go. Silver with silver, black with blackSilver paint with black window frames and trim, I reckon black badge is the right combo here.
