michel Posted 12May, 2016 Report Share Posted 12May, 2016 To all who can and those who just will, post your interest here.Fascinated by the extent of time talking, wanting and yearning for a drive of more than 12 km's to my fave coffee stop ... I had a small brain reptilian moment and rather drive to work, took a hard right in the sporto one recent morning and did a favourite drive - loaded dog, Nerriga Rd to Nowra. Had a great day, lunch with a mate Bill ( drives a real nice copper C3), 'discovered' some cool race cars, a fiat 124 cc hidden in a shed since late 1976 and didn't hit any Roos, or fines. Though the run home made me realise it's time to do the headlight relay upgrade and get some decent lighting. For the sporto this'll also entail a drill and an array of bonnet mounted super oscars For those who have not travelled through here and driven the road, it's a must. So here's your chance. Proposing a run from the 'loaded dog' Tarago to the coast via Nerriga Rd. Final destination time dependent, though could be Tathra. and a possible meet n greet with the great Reg Percy. And the Tathra pub just got a new owner so the food got better and the. music line up is making a return to its heyday in the 80's - 90's. For those with less time turn around at any point. If there is a day 2 depending on where your driving to Brown Mtn-Cooma and home is a great drive. An alternate is a same day return leg to the 'loaded dog', it's quite the pub and there is accommodation. Thinking it could be done in a few ways to allow participation from as many as possible. And meeting at the Loaded Dog, Tarago is a pretty 'central' meeting point. Date August 13 . Meet 'Loaded Dog', TaragoTime: 8amWho can come - got a car? How many can come? More than me I'm hoping.Do I have to drive all the way? No. Can I come if I don't live in the Canberra area? Yes.My P-car ain't running ? Prefer to keep it air cooled: beetle, ghia, Honda 1300 coupe or Got a mk1 Escort? 58 beetle with judson supercharger, 101 Alfa. . Jump a lift If there is an overnight stop can I meet you there for the second day? Yes.Is it an issue if I drive faster in my 65 912 than Edgy's last big day out? if required ( numbers) could have a capable and more capable group . Though remember be safe out there and it's not a race. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl=en&mid=1a_QLEw5B5yF66RfiH_Qbb0pzoTA

MFX Posted 24May, 2016 Report Share Posted 24May, 2016 The July date is good for me too. September is too far away, maybe we can organise a separate Historics catch up.

michel Posted 25May, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 25May, 2016 Ok - I'll pimp an August date any time after the 9th.definite one day ( long run) with optional second day. Whose keen on doing a recce and some 'pace' notes ... ?Might organise a beer goggle night in the next Cpl weeks and hammer out needed detail.Reckon mr fingers and his OTLW krew should be up for it. As before don't care what model P car you run, though be good to see more pre 97. So dust off your 'precious'. If you have no P car running but have a '76 SAAB turbo ?
