Goulburn to Bathurst ?

Recommended Posts

I did did the Blayney to Crookwell road in my Carrera 3.0 last year.

Would definitely recommend that.

I did the Taralga many years ago in a Hyundai and it was definitely unsealed then.... not sure now. I had heard significant parts of it are sealed now though.

I have driven that road via Taralga several times over the last few years, and it is sealed all the way. There used to be a tiny unsealed bit with a rickety old bridge but now it is good. The run up the hill from that new bridge is nice and wide, smooth switch backs. Great road in the middle of nowhere a long way from any Police station ;)

Don't be too relaxed - a great road and I was told that the Taralga constabulary was doing very well out of those who transgressed so take care.

I'm having a memory freeze because the only breakdown I can recall was when my newly rebuilt engine imploded at Eastern Creek - admittedly that was a memorable blow up

We'd already left toward Sydney, and Jeff and Greg headed back the way we came, Jeff broke down on the way back. Unless I'm having a fever dream from covid :Chuckle2:

Perhaps you are confusing me with someone else?

@MFX Did we do this run a couple of years ago? And stop at a pub somewhere? Or was that a different road?

I'm thinking of that run where your car broke down on the way back and the rest of us went back to Sydney via Bathurst.

I think so. I definitely went home that way, but I can't remember if we went out through Crookwell on the way out?

I found some photos, it was October 22nd, 2022 - no clues though as to which road we actually took :Chuckle2:

So, Bathurst to Goulburn via Crookwell was excellent, really excellent.

Paid a visit to OneRaceway (thanks Dieter/ Cam/Rod) unbelievable what is taking shape there.

Headed back to Lithgow via Oberon, Hampton. Section Oberon, Hampton, Lithgow not so great due surface damage,

Very cold in Lithogow this morning -2 ...🥶
