Idea and arrangements by Trevor, I am assisting with planning.

Thanks GC may take you up on the offer later, at the moment I am using route maps from the Targa website.

Have you enough time in your schedule Caver ?

Tempting.

Is the Symmons Plains just an open track day or have you booked the track for exclusive use?

CAMS licence sufficient to get on the track?

Any idea of the total cost?

Thanks

Don't quote me but from what I heard about $130 for a full private group day, fill out & sign basic cams forms.

You will need to have drivers side secured fire extinguisher and a helmet.

Here are the costs.

These are the normal prices without trying to negotiate as yet

but much better package prices if we can get 16 people/cars.

8 people confirmed , need another 8.

Ferry twin berth and car $160

Ferry twin berth and car $150 return

Accommodation

Sebel Launceston          $129

Respoint Hobart             $130

                          Total     $569

Plus fuel and food costs.

Mark/Jim,

So it is limited to 16 cars but not necessarily 16 people? As in we can bring along our wife/girlfriend (probably best to only bring one of them) or a mate?

Either way I'd like to put my hand up for this.

Ummmmmm.........

It will be a lonely drive down to Mexico, would be good to have company. ;)

Randal, just saw your post.

Is that a yes for you?

It has been discussed and agreed that it is best to have drivers only as it will not be fair to passengers

going through the lengthy twistie roads which will most likely bring on severe motion sickness.

Four more are coming, so now we have 12 cars & drivers confirmed.

Only 4 places left.

There will be a good mix of exotic cars.

Yep, that is a "yes" from me.

I hope my poor old 3.2 will not get the inferiority complex trying to keep up with the exotic cars in the group.

On the note of motion sickness in the twisties it has crossed my mind to ask do they have unmarked speed cameras in Tassie like what you guys have in Vic?

I was in Tassie this year for the Targa Tas & yes they have mobile cameras on tripods, very hard to spot, worst one I saw at the 2012 Targa was the camera sticking out of a hedge! Didn't see any fixed cameras from memory although seems even the 4wd Landcruiser cop cars have radars. Also they use bog standard Falcons as HWP, saw about 4 of those at close range at the start of some of the stages, very very hard to see at a distance. Good luck & great roads.

Great to have you on board, you will fit in just fine and your car will be a wonderful addition to the mix.
