Harvs11 Posted 18October, 2013 Report Share Posted 18October, 2013 It looks like the 912 secret is out. I like the idea of keeping to period materials for the mods. I'm not a fan of the Cup wheels on the older style body though.
wasserkuhl Posted 19October, 2013 Report Share Posted 19October, 2013 Nah. 912s are just cheap Porsche with VW bits in them.
reax Posted 19October, 2013 Report Share Posted 19October, 2013 Nah. 912s are just cheap Porsche with VW bits in them. I am so going to use this when you sell the
LeeM Posted 19October, 2013 Report Share Posted 19October, 2013 Nice. Not the wheels though. My 2 cents anyway
J.J. Posted 21October, 2013 Report Share Posted 21October, 2013 wheels are horrible
Russ Posted 21October, 2013 Report Share Posted 21October, 2013 the flared guards looked like a lot of work! (rather than just welding some on) the wheels aren't hideous, they just don't really match the car - a set of Fuchs or even widened steel wheels would've been better
clutch-monkey Posted 21October, 2013 Report Share Posted 21October, 2013 fuchs or minilites or group4wheels would have been a better pick!
Uncle Posted 21October, 2013 Report Share Posted 21October, 2013 I'm not really sure how a 912 with a 6 in it is any more pure than a Singer but I'll give it Kudo's for the craftsmanship in the build. I also have to agree on the wheels.
hugh Posted 21October, 2013 Report Share Posted 21October, 2013 Nice car - its based on a 901 shaped Porsche so what's not to like? Kind of agree on the wheels, but appreciate their interest in trying something different.............. Singers............. I am still learning about how much they develop/change/modify standard 911's. Let me just say that love or hate them, what they do is pretty impressive in terms of effort and detail. Again I find it hard to make a real comparison with most other folk modifying these cars, but I do like this for its level of restraint and simplicity. Nice article also, love finding out what people do to these cars.
Russ Posted 21October, 2013 Report Share Posted 21October, 2013 it's hard to compare anything to a singer - they basically build an entire car using the best of a 911 (but then even do R&D on developing other 911 bits to fit in a older 911 body). The Cosworth modified GT3 based engine is an artwork in itself have a look at the air conditioning system! (and the dashboard vents) that work, but are in the style of an old
twood Posted 21October, 2013 Report Share Posted 21October, 2013 Why spend all that money and labour on a 912-why not use a 911That car will always be a
teknostar Posted 21October, 2013 Report Share Posted 21October, 2013 Not quite sure why you would hate Singers...
