turboT Posted 12May, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 12May, 2015 I kind of was Dusty - but looking for a new angle. Way too many Singer clones out there now.
Dusty Posted 12May, 2015 Report Share Posted 12May, 2015 I know! Be the first to backdate it to an IB!!! You'll be the pioneer of a new craze!
poli84 Posted 13May, 2015 Report Share Posted 13May, 2015 I know! Be the first to backdate it to an IB!!! You'll be the pioneer of a new craze! haha I've looked into this multiple times. I really like this idea but there is certainly nothing out there about backdating to IB. Just going to have to save up (and up and up and up), for another. JV911 Posted 13May, 2015 Report Share Posted 13May, 2015 haha I've looked into this multiple times. As have I, in fact it was what I was originally looking to do with what became the RS4. There are a handful around, mainly RS and RSR clones Exhibit A: C4-based 74 3.0 RS rep http://rennlist.com/forums/attachments/964-forum/702699d1360676248-964-c4-backdate-to-1973-gulf-3-0-rs-mc061.jpg

That's an impressive build though. Plenty of people being laughed at on RL and Pelican for suggesting the IB backdate.
JV911 Posted 13May, 2015 Report Share Posted 13May, 2015 never a NB IB. except for all the IBs that were forward dated to 964 in the 90s that are now being put back to IB (re-backdated?)

turboT Posted 13May, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 13May, 2015 but really these are just reproductions? Zero creativity in that.Whilst everyone is mimicking Singer (and largely failing on quality and attention to detail)at least he chose to blend a few different different eras and throw in his own spin. JV911 Posted 13May, 2015 Report Share Posted 13May, 2015 That would be this one http://rennlist.com/forums/964-forum/586780-9m11rs-r-creation-of-a-modern-icon-74-3-0rsr-on-9m64rs-platform-59.html Apart from the front wheels it's pretty much perfect in my eyes (well the donk development is ongoing)...now all I need is a lazy half a mil. Coastr Posted 14May, 2015 Report Share Posted 14May, 2015 Its not an IB backdate unless it has bellows and a sharking. If looking for inspiration might I suggest RUF CTR. A lot of people think they are 964 or 930 based but they are in fact a humble 3.2. The bumpers are subtle. Couple with the 964 tail and some wide arches and something a bit different. Also go for a rich interior mixing nice leather with modern materials and might be a nice result.
