AC78 Posted 11August, 2015 Report Share Posted 11August, 2015 A guy at work sent me these pics from a Porsche show, believed to be Melbourne in late 70s early 80s. I wonder how many of these are still around?! Shout out if you see yours!I love the 934 look and surprised this isn't a more popular hot rod project. Dig those Martini stripes I wonder where this thing now resides And that's all folks!

Mike737 Posted 11August, 2015 Report Share Posted 11August, 2015 I remember GS 930 as he worked in the same building in Flinders Lane!I swear I've seen that number plate before somewhere. Is it someone on here that has it? Can't remember if it's the same car though.
spiller Posted 11August, 2015 Report Share Posted 11August, 2015 these pics blow me away! im trying to imagine seeing those cars as relatively new vehicles back in the 1970s, but finding it difficult to do so. Maybe because the 911 is so timeless?

OZ930 Posted 11August, 2015 Report Share Posted 11August, 2015 Looks like a PCV day with Alan Hamilton bringing a lot of his cars out.KF 934 would be Ken Foo, President of PCV at the time and maker of Porsche body kits, including 934, RSR, Turbo and more.Federation 934 is the Alan Hamilton / Alan Moffat carIZG 926 first Turbo concept car from the Paris Motor Show. '73 911S converted to Turbo (look) converted to RSR for Alan Hamilton to race.AH 908 is the Alan Hamilton car, as Hugh said Nice photos

Peter M Posted 11August, 2015 Report Share Posted 11August, 2015 Given the Commodores, it is post Nov 1978 and the shape of the rego sticker on the 356 suggests it's pre 1984. If someone knows when the labels were burgundy or brown in that period you'll know the year of the event.

9fan Posted 29August, 2015 Report Share Posted 29August, 2015 Federation 934 is the Alan Hamilton / Alan Moffat carYes that's right, I was there during the series in 1980 when Moff ( No 9) raced it in the Australian Sports Car Championship !http://s187.photobucket.com/user/Moxo_album/media/OldRace204.jpg.htmlhttp://s187.photobucket.com/user/Moxo_album/media/OldRace203.jpg.htmlI was in Ross Mathisen's team (Porsche 3.0) - leading the pack (Amaroo), followed by Peter Hopwood (Elan), Moff and John Latham (Porsche). Ross would have won that race.
