Looking for a 944

I'm looking for 944 to turn into a "club day track car."

There is not much out on the open market at the moment & I was hoping the PFA family might have some leads.

Don't care about colour or the shape of dashboard but good mechanical condition is important.

I will be stripping the interior out & putting in a half cage with some snug fitting fixed back seats so not fused if the interior is a bit ratty either.

It will start life as my daily in FNQ, so having aircon would be a bonus (not something I'm used to have n the 3.2).

Unfortunately S2 & Turbos are most likely going to be out of my budget.

Any help find my next vice would be much appreciated.

Grab one while you can I think, cheaper ones are still out there but if the price of good cars keeps going up then it will drag them up too.

Good luck with the search, they are great cars and would be a brilliant track toy.

Buy a 944 Challenge car already set up. Track only. Cheap & fast. No aircon though.

http://www.my105.com/ListingDetails/p/1/cid/518/k/944/id/16908  Dont know how old this ad is.

Or this one part done. http://944challenge.com/classifieds/for-sale

Or Mine. But it'll cost more than $6500  http://porscheforum.com.au/topic/8046-the-944-racer-project/?page=1

I've looked at those but really want one I can drive to the track first.

I might progress to a full track car one day.

Your build thread is one of the things that got me into this mess. :)

That's what I was thinking.

Grab it now. Do it up slowly whilst using it as daily.

Slippery slope Billy, good luck finding one mate.

Yes, in my head I'm already picking up speed.

Airhead is not helping. ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

I spoke with Billy last week and he is away for 2 weeks so if anyone wants to have a look on Billy's behalf I'm sure he will appreciate it, he is more concerned with mechanicals than cosmetics, seats will come out, roll cage in etc
