Gerni Pressure Washer Sale at Supercheap Auto

My better than consumer grade Gerni was a complete piece of rubbish. Had it fixed under warranty and it lasted a week before it lost half its pressure again. Customer relations was also hopeless.  Will never buy another one.

On the other hand my cheap 25 year old Karcher is still working great.

This is quite timely as I am borrowing 2 pressure washers at the moment to clean my massive driveway in readiness for selling my house.  The Karcher I am borrowing has the round concrete cleaning head & is doing a reasonable job & the little Home brand model is also very good.  I do want to buy my own though soon.  I will have to go have a look at super cheap.

Jason the Gerni I got has the concrete cleaning head as well and that gets the job done so much quicker, also has a high pressure pipe cleaning self feeder hose as well.

Great, I'll have a look.  What size model did you get?

You've changed mate.  I remember the old Tingy.  He would've said, 'Hey Jason, don't spend your own money buying a Gerni,  I'll give you mine for free AND I'll pay to courier it up to you so you aren't inconvenienced by a long wait to use it'.  Don't worry though Steve I'll be right!

Usage question

Do you chaps really use the Gernis with such high pressure ?? like the 2010 psi

and do you actually use the attachments?? or do they just clutter up the garage?

is this hose stow away a good idea.. or like me with my old one leave it out to trip over all the time

tell  me what ya doing with ya gear

I have that unit - the 140. Almost 4 years and no issues, the hose storage is the best feature

Cars aside I use it to clean around the house incl. paved areas, merbu fencing, fascia/brick work etc. You can limit the pressure if needed via the tip, best of all these use way less water than a regular garden hose

Until you have tried a decent petrol motor power washer, you don't know what you are missing. maybe if you are just washing cars this is fine, but the move to a decent petrol model reduced the path cleaning time by about 75%. The psi might not seem much different (ours is up to 2850 psi), but the amount of water it moves is more (10 litres pm), meaning not only does it shift more dirt, but it does a wider strip each pass. The one I got was from Graysonline, but there is a wide range and although they can be pricey, its possible to get a decent machine for the same sort of money as the Gerni. Mine came with 5 different nozzles for different spray angles.

Yep petrol is way ahead in the cleaning stakes. While they might use more water per minute they actually use a lot less water to get a job done given they are way faster. My 11hp geared pump petrol unit  is incredible compared to the rubbish that is a Gerni Ultimate 130.1. To get close you would need an industrial 3phase unit.

if you budget stretches to a petrol get one. This is one job we will not be seeing battery power used in for a very long time as it is all about pure power.

My experience of a  petrol 3500 psi . one I had , took the paint of the car  around a stone chip , lucky it was the escort ,  screwed all the woodwork on the house eaves needing a repaint , ripped the decking..  so beware..

Great for cleaning the boat ..

That said , great for cleaning pool area .. ours was huge area around a 15 x 8 mtr pool .. with a briggs straton 4 stroke motor it asted for ever .. I left it with the house sale.. it was 15 years old .. and going strong

I think one for the cars thats easy and if you need it one larger for big patios..

totally agree - high powered pressure cleaners make for great paint strippers

Even with the Gerni I have I never run it at full pressure around a car or other paintwork for that very reason. A lot of people are anti pressure cleaners because it will jam grime into cracks and seals that regular washing wouldn't - I think with care they can be used successfully without damaging the cars paintwork and seals

I have a special low pressure nozzle for use on cars but I never use it as the risk of damage is just too high. Under the bonnet also a complete no go area. Way to easy to have water push past a seal mechanical or wiring connectors.
