Zelrik911 Posted 5November, 2018 Report Share Posted 5November, 2018 They are great to have a couple of sets - only if you have a solid flat floor. The cheapest ones will fold up on the corners if they hit a bump or tool on the floor, so recommend you inspect before you buy
firstone Posted 5November, 2018 Report Share Posted 5November, 2018 You'd have to consider tyre width looking at basic one's available. A Turbo would struggle on the cheapys? ?
LeeM Posted 5November, 2018 Report Share Posted 5November, 2018 Cheap ones are crap mate. Usually the wheels aren't up to the weight and collapse. Spend the cash and buy the racing 'Go Jack's or whatever they're called. Maybe Sven @Skidmarks can point you in the right direction
Airhead Posted 5November, 2018 Report Share Posted 5November, 2018 Total Tools have them - not sure of width. At least you can take them back if you have a problem I bought some on line years ago (can't remember supplier) and they were great and got lots of use at home and race meetings. Seals sloppy now and not pumping up well. Also a bit narrow for the Porsche rears.
Mike-S Posted 5November, 2018 Report Share Posted 5November, 2018 Bought 4 from Total Tools a couple of months ago, some deal they had on at the time. $119 each, ended up with 4 for less than $350.... Great for moving the Spitfire around, haven’t tried them under the 911 yet but they’ll fit.
356993??? Posted 5November, 2018 Report Share Posted 5November, 2018 I’ve got the SCA set. Check the clearance height of the cars you intend to use with them and measure height of the jack area that needs to slide under the car. This brand won’t slide under/around rear of 993 turbo (standard ride height ) or GT3 as the castor wheel nut and arms are too high. On a 356 they work ok (not great) but floor must be very flat and clean as even small stones will foul you being able to push the car. And, while the actual jack mechanism will lift the car, the rest of the unit seems a bit flimsy even with 356 weight. Castors won’t swivel easily even with 356 weight. Lee M is right, don’t go cheap. jaw Posted 17November, 2018 Report Share Posted 17November, 2018 sca ones are a tight fit on the 996 - and on the jeep they caused a flat so just be cautious when jacking
Carrera28 Posted 17November, 2018 Report Share Posted 17November, 2018 Definitely check that they fit the tyres, a friend of mine lent me some really good quality ones and they didn't fit around the back of my 285mm rear tyres, luckily I had some narrower rear wheels which I could bolt on to move the car.
