withers Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 Each time I look at porsche.com.au and have a play around with build a car.. I always feel a bit overwhelmed by the amount of 911 variants exist. Do you guys think they have too many? What would be the least popular version of the 911 do you think? 911s by mmanda withers, on Flickr
Pauly Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 To many IMO I remember watching top gear and they tested the C2 against the C4. The 911 has so much grip the c2 equaled the c4's time around an indoor tight circuit. all the AWD range should go. the only AWD should the the Targa and the turbo. Kerry Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 1x C2, 1x C4, 1x Targa, 1x Cab, 1x Turbo, 27x GT3 Variants (none of which are cabs or targas!) none should be "S"s as all should be stinking hot in their own right! IMHO...
hugh Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 The above list is still missing GT3 rs and GT2 variants...............pretty confusing to people who think they are all the same car!
withers Posted 25February, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 Yes I don't get the GT2 and GT3 thing either! It's very confusing. If you were looking to buy one, must take quite awhile to understand what you get for your $. It dilutes the marque I think.

tazzieman Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 Is Are there too many 911s in Porsche's lineup? Too many variants of every product these days
Tit Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 I think the 911 lineup is logical. At least they aren't like MINI. Churning out more and more stupid model iterations that answer questions no one asked... What about BMW? 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,i,x series', different engines. Then there's the GTs and M cars....craziness

withers Posted 25February, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 Does anyone know what the no 1 selling 991 variant is so far? I see mostly 4S on the roads and Cabs also in the S.
Steiny Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 GT3 Cup (991) - 27 cars in one hit. http://www.carreracup.com.au/content/video-991-hand-over-event
sleazius Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 Far too many variants. My money would be on Turbo S Cab for lowest selling of all variants.
KGB Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 Is not my language, but "are there"...maybe is more better? "There is no substitute" except considering S, 4, GT#, RS. Funny guys in Zuffers. Marketing peoples makes too much troubles always, pinching the roubles from pockets.
SteveT Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 Something for everyone would be the marketing departments response I presume. Although they don't price them (at least in Australia) like they expect to sell one to everyone.
Airhead Posted 25February, 2014 Report Share Posted 25February, 2014 What would be the least popular version of the 911 do you think? The one that I don't own.
Muddy Posted 7March, 2014 Report Share Posted 7March, 2014 I was never sure why there is a 4, if you have got funds for more than a 2S get a 4S, how do you buy something with less power than the model below it in the price range.
