Wobbly Posted 8November, 2010 Report Share Posted 8November, 2010 I've bought both apps (they're relatively cheap) and buy issues from one or the other depending on how interesting they look. Greed is good
pommygeezz Posted 8November, 2010 Report Share Posted 8November, 2010 I prefer total 911, but guess it depends on what your looking for, either way enjoy the read
PCM911T Posted 8November, 2010 Report Share Posted 8November, 2010 both of these mags and Total 911 are from the same publisher and month to month overlap their articles, so I choose one or the other in the newsagent. I subscribe to Excellence(USA) and get 9 issues for US$25 per annum. Lots of advertising, but it has improved recently.Does take 3 weeks to arrive from the US release date though, but that's quicker than the UK mags anyway. Chris-p Posted 8November, 2010 Author Report Share Posted 8November, 2010 Thanks for the comments, I have the GT Porsche app so I will try to Total 911 one and see how that works out. Oh Paul no good on the glasses for you sorry. Cheers Chris
Kerry Posted 8November, 2010 Report Share Posted 8November, 2010 One vs the other: GT Porsche for me. Less "silly" articles, but you do have to wonder how the various Porsche magazines (5,6?) can manage to reinvent the same topic in different ways month after month don't you?! Porsche is prolific with new models etc, and they obviously have a rich history and many devoted fans, however thats still a lot of words generated every month about essentially the same thing, glad its not me trying to find the fresh angle! wasserkuhl Posted 1February, 2013 Report Share Posted 1February, 2013 Oldish thread but I am going to add my opinion anyway. I find GT Porsche to be full of spelling, Grammar and factual errors consistently. I have stopped buying them along time ago. Total 911 is better in my opinion. 911 & Porsche world is one of my favourites along with 'Excellence".
Vas Posted 2February, 2013 Report Share Posted 2February, 2013 911 & Porsche world is my pick. They do cool little tech stuff.
wasserkuhl Posted 2February, 2013 Report Share Posted 2February, 2013 911 & Porsche world is my pick. They do cool little tech stuff. Yep some great "how to" articles in there. I have a massive back catalogue that I refer to frequently. In my honest opinion I find Total 911 to be more of a 'lifestyle' magazine and its not that much better than GT Purely Porsche. I only Buy 911 & PW, Excellence and Classic Porsche now.
Russ Posted 2February, 2013 Report Share Posted 2February, 2013 i used to be into GT Purely Porsche, after Excellence got expensive. I found Total 911 to be half ads
333pg333 Posted 23February, 2013 Report Share Posted 23February, 2013 I take umbrage at the title 'Total 911' so don't buy it. Anyone who likes or drives a 356 / 914 / 924 / 944 / 928 / 968 etc...should boycott this crummy rag!
tazzieman Posted 23February, 2013 Report Share Posted 23February, 2013 I buy them all , even though I haven't got a 928 or 996...
D-banger Posted 24February, 2013 Report Share Posted 24February, 2013 I bought Total 911 in the early days. Now it's just Classic Porsche for me. I think I might be stuck in the past

I think I might be stuck in the past And I bet you buy the copy that has been thumbed through with bent page corners just for the "Patina"
withers Posted 24February, 2013 Report Share Posted 24February, 2013 I bought the a classic porsche mag-book that's in newsagents now. It's pretty good. Especially for anyone wanting to learn about all the varying 911 models.
LeeM Posted 19March, 2013 Report Share Posted 19March, 2013 Yeah, Classic Porsche mag for me. Only takes 3 months for the latest issue to get here. If anyone has any back issues, I'd be glad to buy them from you. Theyre on Stalkbook if anyone is interested. I'm not tech savvy enough to download the app thingy though
