This would worry me a bit "it has an incredible Service history file from 2002 documenting every service, repair, spare part, Tyre and Battery change with many receipts available." That's the first 13 years of its life missing.....But there are few around and the price is about what you would expect to pay. I'm not thinking that the service history plays an important part in the buying decision for this age of car .... while good to have, just not a make or break .....I have sold much younger cars without even a receipt to show and my SC was bought with only 1 x receipt ..... an aircon regas. It didn't bother me one bit.If we are talking collector quality vehicles, that is a different story ......
Plugger2 Posted 8February, 2017 Report Share Posted 8February, 2017 Don't mind the interior at all... quite like it actually. As for the service history, I'd rather have the last 13 years than the first 13 years! In any case, it appears the service books are included, so the basic service stamps will give some idea of it's early servicing.Perhaps not surprisingly, this car supplants the "S" as my pick for the best value 944 on carsales at the moment. The only thing I spotted that I could fault was the leather on the gear knob and gaiter/boot looks a bit tatty. Probably not too difficult to get replaced. Anyone ever done that on one of these cars? How much would a motor trimmer charge do you think? MB911 Posted 8February, 2017 Report Share Posted 8February, 2017 At the end of the day we are all diferent but to me if I am paying good to top money for a car I want full history, it's just me. My Brock commodore still had the original quote and delivery docket when I purchased it. To me it just says that every owner valued the car and was meticulous. Some people couldn't care if it has no history, at the end of the day it's their money to spend on whatever they want. I'd be willing to bet that the really immaculate 944's that are owned on here have full history. As far as I can remember all the big dollars ones I have seen go through CTS have had full history. People just like it. Others couldn't give a toss, each to their own. I always have a file as thick as a dictionary for the cars I have ever owned. Odd that it has the books but not the history. Whatever.. Dreamr

Plugger2 Posted 8February, 2017 Report Share Posted 8February, 2017 Truth is, I don't believe all owners are equally aware that keeping receipts is a good thing to do when it comes time to sell a car. So some just don't get kept!I would get a PPI done, and that combined with the last 13 years of service history would give you a pretty clear picture of what you are buying. TINGY Posted 8February, 2017 Report Share Posted 8February, 2017 I'd take it if I was looking, agreed last 13 yrs is better than none and it's priced probably for a bit of wiggle, not a white fan or of that interior but I could just live with it I think. tazzieman Posted 10February, 2017 Report Share Posted 10February, 2017 Info FWIW. Just doing my insurance policy housework and transferring the 944 to a new classic insurer. Clearly the market has moved. I wanted up to 15k coverage, but the guy said 20k would be much wiser. this is for a S1 NA 944 , unmolested, rel low km car. tazzieman Posted 10February, 2017 Report Share Posted 10February, 2017 The specialist enthusiast one. At the end of the day , one insures to replace like with like. Well , that's how I operate. The more that get molested , modified or damaged , the harder it gets. You have to pay more premiums , but that's the cost of membership.
