Help! Magnus Walker interview questions?

Fellow PFA'ers,

My brothers partner is doing a magazine interview with Mr Magnus Walker and has asked me for some questions. I thought it would be worth putting it out there as to what questions we may like answers to?

What's your favourite porsche of all time?

Do you only have eyes for air cooled?

What kind of shampoo do you use?

I'll do my best to get PFA a mention. (If that's of interest)

Some questions I would ask him are :

How much work do you do on your cars?

Do you do most of the assembly and just leave the specialist items like engine and gearbox to others?

What was your first car?

You had a goal to own an example of every year of early 911's 1965 - 1973, do you now have an example of each year?

What do you think of the 356 Models?

Do you ever think you will own a 912?

What are you most passionate about? your Porsches or your Business?

You have a 1976 Turbo Carrera, which is an impact bumper 911, are you looking to expand your collection with other impact bumper cars?

What do you think of the 996 911, the first watercooled 911......?

I reckon that should do it....

I would +1 to questions about the 76 Turbo Carrera.  It sticks out in the collection, because it's an impact bumper and it's a turbo.  Is he interested in creating 'outlaw' impact bumper builds?

Also, he recently got loaned a 991 by Porsche - did he enjoy this or are the old cars still the best?

Hey Hugh,

Feel free to mention the PFA anywhere you like and can! ;)

As for questions... Like Coastr I'm also interested in whether MW thinks the "outlaw" look might extend into the impact bumpers and as such, what he thinks about the local "VB/ Martini Car" (link below), but I guess the real question is which magazine is your sister in law writing for? Is the readership for car nuts, or is it a fluff article ( no disrespect intended) for the QANTAS magazine, or is it, as I suspect, an article for "Dreads in Sheds"?! Lol! But seriously, what's the style of mag with which to frame the questions... Or am I getting a bit too specific, and the question is simply: "driving around LA as you do, how have you managed to keep your licence?!"

Sorry Hugh, pre caffeine....... About to rectify.....

Spot on Kerry, its for an 'art mag' but I think its good to have a few key porsche questions in there - the comparison between new/old/air/water I think is good and I too am interested in his thoughts towards the later impact bumper cars. Anything beyond this may get a bit heavy for the average 'art mag' reader?

Gotta love an Art mag mate! LOL!

Ask him whether car ownership and adoration, typified by the status symbolism established in the mid 20th century, (and that which was said to replace the masculinely adorned Victorian drawing room) will survive the existential crisis posed by carbon burning and climate warming, and if not, where he thinks the male instinct to extol his virility, and sate his desire for adrenalin driven bravado, will come from?

(Wanker much? - Oui!)

I would like to know how he ever managed to fit his head in a helmet!

Oh if it's an art mag maybe ask him about his style influences, does he draw any inspiration from his favourite artists?

Art mag...Magnus walker...Cars??? Is it a stye/ art/ street scene mag ( Frankie ?) as otherwise I'm scratching my no longer dreddy hair to figure. Hell I love his frenched rear lights as much as the raw brick deconstructed warehouse studio gallery vibe....to a point. so I would like to know about his philanthropy, engagement with the creative sector, is his expanding apparel range made ethically? Style/ idea influences , what was his last art buy and why, of course the existential question your favorite piece black tar....though for the forum buffs isn't his car pilgrimage well raked?
