Russ Posted 27May, 2014 Report Share Posted 27May, 2014 The 2.7 seems more 'cammy' and free revving than any of the 3.0's I drove. I'm sure there has to be a way to make a good one
Uncle Posted 28May, 2014 Report Share Posted 28May, 2014 There is Russ. Fit 3.2 then place 2.7 badge on the gill.

clutch-monkey Posted 9June, 2014 Report Share Posted 9June, 2014 this one is being discussed in the for sale thread- seems to be solid bar a broken head stud, has reduced price to 25k? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/carseldine/cars-vans-utes/1985-porsche-911-coupe/1041138236
SteamWolf Posted 10June, 2014 Report Share Posted 10June, 2014 a $12k price reduction must hurt!! Good buy for someone. IB cars aren't getting any cheaper.

clutch-monkey Posted 10June, 2014 Report Share Posted 10June, 2014 that second one looks good. the first one was originally asking 55k then came down to 45k. i reckon you could squeeze into it for 40k. or less. brakes need to be rebuilt though - is what the ad refers to with 'mechanical reconditioning'

hugh Posted 10June, 2014 Report Share Posted 10June, 2014 Aaron's car has been on the market for a while; http://www.pcv.com.au/PorscheClubs/pc_victoria/pc_main.nsf/web/DFDA80C0722C0A5CC1257C74008296A2#pagetop A lot of car at that price. clutch-monkey Posted 10June, 2014 Report Share Posted 10June, 2014 all good ideas, certainly cheaper to buy one already setup
9fan Posted 11June, 2014 Report Share Posted 11June, 2014 Hi Paul - Not meaning to stir the pot, but you would be suprised how much cheaper (from around $25K all up) it would be to do a road/track 3lt 944S2/968 with same perfrmance ! Cheers,Mark.
SteamWolf Posted 11June, 2014 Report Share Posted 11June, 2014 As would a WRX or LS1 Commodore, but that's not why we are here (Sorry front engine people )
TCR Posted 11June, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 11June, 2014 Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have briefly spoken to Stan about his SC but never really got into discussions on price. Would have to be considerably cheaper than the 45K asking price though. However this silver SC at 30K ono appears to tick the "sound mechanicals" box, so might be ok if the body is sound. At that price it would leave a little in the bank for tinkering. TCR Posted 11June, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 11June, 2014 Appreciate the suggestion 9fan but have my heart set on a 911.Already contacted the owner via email yesterday Peter. He responded to some questions I had but also stated that he had someone looking at the car at that moment. Waiting to see if it's still available and then get some more detailed photos of the car before going any further.

TCR Posted 12June, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 12June, 2014 Thanks Michael. No doubt the good ones get snapped up quickly, but I'm not about to take a gamble and commit to buying something that I'm not completely satisfied with. Might mean I miss a few cars, and perhaps I just need to be in the right place at the right time, but I'm not in a rush to get something right now.
