LeeM Posted 22January, 2015 Report Share Posted 22January, 2015 Just dropped my wheels off to be grit blasted, and the guy there says 5 SA locals (including Mark Poole and maybe Buik) are building cars (74 models perhaps?) for a new Australia wide IROC Porsche series. Anyone heard about this? Would be awesome if its true

OROC? will be good to see, Quozl you know what to do... this was the first google result - http://irocseries.com.au/ wonder if it'll do to HQ Holdens what HQ racing did in the 90s? Airhead Posted 22January, 2015 Report Share Posted 22January, 2015 So did they have the 2014 race? Lots of good and bad here. Good - race series that will be good to watch for us P-car nutters. - Might remove a few guys from historics to move up to this. Bad - Eligble cars taken from good road going cars. - Series fail will mean the cars wont really fit anywhere else. - They are only running at 4 meetings. 2015 EVENTS: Round 1 12-14 June Winton Raceway Round 2 3-5 July Sydney Motorsport Park Round 3 18-20 September Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit Round 4 16-18 October Wakefield Park Raceway PS Shanons Nationals will now only be run on the East Coast so not really a nationals is it? Might need a PFA SMT to Winton in June though.
LeeM Posted 22January, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 22January, 2015 And April 17th at Mallala according to the dates released above. The guy that told me today also said the first round was here, as quite a few Porsche nuts are hanging out for it. I'd love to go to Winton, as not only did I enjoy racing bikes there, it would give me a chance to head over and show the widow of the previous owner in Benalla how the 912 has turned out
Airhead Posted 22January, 2015 Report Share Posted 22January, 2015 So it was YOU that bought the white one at Wintons entry point.
LeeM Posted 22January, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 22January, 2015 Maybe?? It was white and near the track under a tarp or carport I think. The mob I bought it from told me a lot of people knew about it and had made offers, yet were rejected numerous times. There was some family problems fighting over the car apparently, so she rang the guy and sold it to him to shut them up. Thats the story I got anyway. I'd like to show her how it is now if I could track her down
Harvs11 Posted 23January, 2015 Report Share Posted 23January, 2015 wonder if it'll do to HQ Holdens what HQ racing did in the 90s? What? Strip the market of all the decent cars and drive up the price of spare parts?
