Custom 914 Project

A fair bit has happened recently, but I'll jump forward to the interior that I finished a few weeks ago.

I laid down a layer of Carbuilders acoustic foam to go between the sound deadening and the carpet:

I then made a start on the carpet, also from Carbuilders (Melbourne). It's not a 914 kit, I started with a roll of raw material. It's not the most hard-wearing carpet around, but it goes around corners really nicely and easy to glue down and trim to size.

Since I threw the factory backpad in the bin a couple of years ago, it's been my intention to carpet all the way up to the rear glass, so that's what I did.

After final assembly, the interior is now finished. I've never done anything like this before.. it was fun.

I take it your front & rear bumpers are fibre glass? Where did you source them from? Happy with the fit & finish?

Brian

Hi Brian,

Yes, fibreglass. I bought the full set from GT Racing in the US. But, I can not recommend them at all. The f&f was diabolical and cost me many hours of labour for the guys to get them to fit nicely.
