Your 911 GTS not quick enough? This should fix it

Just sold my 992 GTS.  It was plenty quick enough as is, especially on the road.

I tracked it once at PI and it monstered the main straight - Vmax 265 km/h.  That's the fastest I've ever been in any car and it was completely stock whereas other cars have been modified and/or track only cars with more power and less weight.  Porsche knows how to build 'em.

Can't imagine why you'd need a Turbo, Turbo S or to then modify for more power.  It is barely exploitable on road as a standard GTS.

Hear what you Re saying ,But these hot up shops are everywhere and people are paying the money???? My 6.2 can still manage to scare me if I think it's got nothing to teach me.

Funny enough I was just reading an article that said the same thing more or less … just posted about it:

There's always a market for bolt ons and engine mods.

F..k knows why you'd need to mod a 992, unless you're one of those Cars n Coffee posers who like to say how much better their car is over a soy latte, or you do track days. Then you'd be better off doing suspension and brake mods and learn how to drive, yet let's face facts here...a large percentage of owners are only the CnC/drive to work type 😁

What is the point of this anyway? I still maintain ~350-400hp is perfect for the road in a light weight package. Anything more than that especially here in our anti-car society is just asking for trouble on the road.

Much as I love getting in the GT3 and going for a run, most of it is at "straight to pound me in the arse jail, do not pass go, do not accept $200" speeds. If I didn't live in the sticks, given I never get to the track, the car would be 100% pointless.

The saturation of porn in society has shown us in high definition detail that we can't compete in dick size anymore. The only other way to compare us is to  spend enormous sums of money on cars to preen and show our self worth to others in society. Money spend and ultra speed are our current KPIs.

In terms of jail time with Bubba, I know I'd rather spend time with him if he was in there for extreme speeding in a high performance car or driving an oversized vehicle, cos we all know it's a compensating method 😂

...

...

That's why I drive an early 1990s n/a tiptronic - no compensation needed  😁😁

I love my latte haha, maybe thats why i like modding. But as i get older i am less inclined.

I can anwear why you would mod 992. Better driveability, more torque in the useable range, better fuel consumption and... more HP is just a byproduct.

Also stupid sport exhaust vale that doesnt seem to open up until you hit 5000rpm is stupid as f.k, you can flash your ecu to have it opened up 100% at idle.

We have decent quality fuel in AU unlike other countries, cars are  typically tuned to run rich from factory as its safer, downside is worse fuel economy and less power.

Im actually thinking of heading down custom retune path to open up the exhaust valve 100%, replace the factory cats with better flowing, sounding ones and while i have laptip plugged in might as well turn the boost up by couple pounds as essentually thats what a GTS is over a Carrera S.....

Great car, it just sounds horrible i expected more from sports exhaust. Its Pathetic that my Macan S with out sports exgaust is louder on cold start and has more depth. Im really trigged by this.

I love your GT3, is it manual?

HP figure depends on transmission, traction, chassis and weight.

For example my lancer roughly had 620hp weight was only 100kg weigher than 911, but i had  no traction issue, and close ratio manual trans made it a perfect package.

450hp with PDK is absolutely nuts, and i have to very carefull... Never had that issue with lancer.

Yeah - its manual. I'm using it at Motorkhana with my daughter this season so maybe just maybe I'll get to the track after all.

PDK makes these cars so quick. I was following @Raven in his 991.2 RS last drive day I went on, and the way he pulled away from me in a straight line was frankly ridiculous. I imagine your car would do the same.

I'm going back to more JDM after my most recent buy, maybe I'll do some modding too 😉

But did you get more driving experience & pleasure from manual shifting than the PDK 😂 I know your answer, same as mine I assume, doesn’t mean I still don’t like Ravens whip 👍

Do you flat foot shift or tired it? We used to call it no lift shift.

I miss manual and getting heel toe right, so much satisfaction and it didnt have to be on track haha.

They were toying around with this feature years ago with experimental code but i know GT3 has that ability from factory.  Also probably more benificial for turbo charged cars.

This my old dyno graph, stock vs tuned 375kw at wheels, red line was raised to 8400rpm it was tuned to limit torque as stock rods were weak point. It has another 10 psi left on the turbo 🤣

When i sold her she has 81k kms and i havent had any issues, done full compression test prior to sale and they were perfect.

I just love how reliable JDMs are when maintained properly.

Meanwhile looks ljke macan needs new engine mounts, it rattles so much and 992 is getting new injector under warranty.. #porsche...
