Buying a car from NSW

Recommended Posts

It will really depend where the car is located ..... is it in Sydney or outer areas.

If you give us a suburb, it will help a lot .....

Concord. I think this is west of Sydney

Was thinking VIP Automotive Solutions?

Cavaco will be the closest specialist to Concord I think.

For transport, I recently used CEVA for covered transport from Adelaide to Sydney and was reasonably satisfied with their service. Car was a little dustier than I was expecting (just a light layer) and for some reason the battery was flat when it arrived. Price was reasonable - about $900 depot to depot.

While they seem to have a very slick, glossy service with nice colour pictures, I wouldn't go anywhere other than a Porsche specialist, even if they don't give you the glossy photos. The other factor of who to go to is what sort of car - air cooled, water cooled and what era. Whatever it is go with a specialist.

Thanks D2000

I have used CEVA before. I'm not sure which actual parts of the transport were covered as the car got rather dusty as well, and seems like they may contract the work out. I was happy overall with their service and agree their price was reasonable.

Prix car transport was meant to be covered, and being to the door I was at odds when the car came (perhaps just from the depot) uncovered, along with dust inside and out, and cooked...

Steve I got mine from qld, and was going to enclosed trailer it back, but after looking at $2k for the privilege I took the time off work grabbed a mate and drove it back. Not only did I get to enjoy and experience the car, it created memories and an experience in doing so. Best thing I did.

Drove my 964 home from Brisbane, was one of the best 3 day experiences I've had. Flew up with my fiance and often reminisce about how great the journey home was.

Autohaus.

Think about driving it back.

I did and it was a great way to get into the car. Nothing better than a road trip.

Melbourne to Sydney for me - (only three hours spent on Highways) - still one of the best trips I have taken

I've done this a few times and only in a rush

Twice i flew up to Sydney after work, picked up the car and drove dark to day to Melbourne so i could work the next day at 830am. Not sure why I did it the second time. It was sort of hard work - air con on full cold, windows down just to stay awake.

I agree it would be nice to pace it out.

Autohaus just did a PPI on mine. $450 and to say it was detailed would be to underestimate what I got. As the seller i wish I'd gone somewhere else ;)

They charged me $100 more than that 3 years ago. You must be special/treasured customer.

many thanks for all the replies :)

correction - confirmed with CEVA they have their own trucks and take responsibility from start to finish for any damage

lets see how this goes

I used CEVA when I brought the GT3 from Melbourne to Sydney.

Covered transport, door to door.

I was very happy with their service.....

Cheers,

Geoff.
