WGA Posted 19October, 2022 Report Share Posted 19October, 2022 Will be a interesting alternative choice for some. Curiously, the press photos show a car in what looks to be a Gulf Blue like colour but no mention is made in the story of any colour that remotely sounds like a pale blue. It could be a PTS colour but Porsche don't normally use PTS colours in their launches. And as expected, Porsche have relaunched Ruby Star, although in the slightly new tone - Neo. I loved Ruby Star on the 964 RS but, back then, it was not a very popular choice. Will be interesting to see how popular it is this time around. WGA Posted 19October, 2022 Report Share Posted 19October, 2022 OK, after a little more digging, I see in the German press kit there is one photo where the text caption underneath mentions that it is indeed Gulf Blue. Hope that becomes one of the new colour options across the range. JWM and Raven
edgy Posted 19October, 2022 Report Share Posted 19October, 2022 I thought these were a cool option if they get specced right... i.e. lightweight glass, bucket seats, rear seat delete and manual... alas most the 991's I see are the opposite, PDK, 18 way seats, leather etc ... kind of defeats the purpose IMO if you spec it that way! Completely agree, I was looking around for one for a while and nothing I came across was in the desired spec as outlined above! edgy
edgy Posted 19October, 2022 Report Share Posted 19October, 2022 Well, putting theory to practice... I thought I should configure one for myself! Have to say, I am pretty enamoured with this spec! Although I couldn't see "lightweight bucket seat" option yet, could have been too early to the configurator? I may, or may not have sent the code my SA friend Porsche Code: PPKL8FG2 cafe_racer and luzzo
mc968cs Posted 19October, 2022 Report Share Posted 19October, 2022 I’m like idea too. 2 Bucket seats…manual…heritage pack if available on it.
sleazius Posted 19October, 2022 Report Share Posted 19October, 2022 If I was on less lists I'd be considering one of these. Perfect amount of go for road use.

cafe_racer Posted 21October, 2022 Report Share Posted 21October, 2022 I like it. And get it. But geez it’s pricey. You can have this or a gt4RS for similar money. And if you don’t get back seats in the 911T it gives up any practicality advantages. Yeatesy, GC9911 and edgy

HWY Posted 23October, 2022 Report Share Posted 23October, 2022 I got a basic one with lift and ventilated seats for $312k drive away. Still cheapest way to get a manual 911. But agree- it is still a shedload of cash. Race-tex roof is not even standard anymore? Ouch.

I just did the exercise -> drive away pricing in Vic with no options/upgrades: - 992 Carrera $293k - 992 CT $316k - 992 CS $336k - GT4 RS $349k Horses for course I suppose but 992 does seem exxy. tomk86 Posted 23October, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 23October, 2022 Dans 9% stamp duty certainly doesn’t help…the T is around $15k more in VIC over NSW luzzo
Reon Kadena Posted 24October, 2022 Report Share Posted 24October, 2022 Given the limited number available, would the Carrera T be sold only to existing porsche customers? I believe only 40 991.2 Carrera T's were sold in Australia.

cafe_racer Posted 25October, 2022 Report Share Posted 25October, 2022 Yep, I reckon if you go into a dealer today, put a deposit down, you'll have a Carrera T in less than 12 months. Reon Kadena and DJM

My friend at PCW told me I could probably have one by April/May next year at the earliest... however they were asking Carrera S customers if they'd like to switch their S order to a T should they want a car sooner... he felt the Carrera T production would commence Jan/Feb

Oldknees Posted 2April Report Share Posted 2April Yep prices up again. Bog standard C2 without any options is now over $300k drive away. I'm waiting on one due for delivery in April / May - 18months since I ordered it. Has had 2 price rises during in that time of about $40k. (Luckly avoided those) Currently on the slowest boat possible - if anyone has watched the 911 tracking app, it's like watching the grass grow. Heard the wait is even longer now.
