I was literally about to get on a plane when I found my 930 in Melbourne and stopped the chase. Another member did a bit more digging and it turned out a lot of NZ cars were actually first imported into OZ by Hamilton and then shipped off to NZ. Can't remember the exact year but think it was a 79 or 81 car. Anyway, under $60k, so no LCT, just import costs, duty, gst and shipping. Think I could have had it landed for just under $70k...for an original RHD Oz import! Saw a grey UK car a few months back - great colour.those were the days (10 months ago) ByronBayChris

rafikdous Posted 16November, 2015 Report Share Posted 16November, 2015 What's the 5% custom duties? Over the last few years, I imported 6 cars from the USA and did not get asked for the 5%. Is this something for later cars or specific to NZ imports?
