Simonoz Posted 27March, 2014 Report Share Posted 27March, 2014 Ignore the last question Mike. Beaconsfield is next to Fremantle. The closest specialist is Andy Stack at Rennsport. He would probably do a site visit at your cost and report back while there if you asked. Might be a better way?
SteveT Posted 27March, 2014 Report Share Posted 27March, 2014 Andy is great, he did my PPI.
Mike D'Silva Posted 27March, 2014 Report Share Posted 27March, 2014 thanks simon...not sure im keen enough to org a ppi yet, but if u did lay eyes on it and thought it was worth an inspection, i would organise it. No pressure though!
Mike D'Silva Posted 27March, 2014 Report Share Posted 27March, 2014 actually, even if it is regod in perth, am i correct in sayng it will need to be inspected and approved here in qld? and would it need the orig import papers?
Steiny Posted 27March, 2014 Report Share Posted 27March, 2014 Correct - even with interstate rego you'd still need a QLD issued safety certificate before DMR would register it. As long as it's got an AU compliance plate fixed to it you shouldn't need original import papers.
Jimmy Posted 27March, 2014 Report Share Posted 27March, 2014 Amanda, time to sell the boxster for http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-911-1973/SSE-AD-2706580/?Cr=7&sdmvc=1 Wow that is one clean car and it has trophies to show for it as well. I don't have the import papers for mine and it came from Victoria. I just needed a safety cert.
Cal Posted 28March, 2014 Report Share Posted 28March, 2014 I love it, but I don't use it and the money could be better utilised elsewhere. $52K firm. There is a guy looking at it tomorrow. Scott930, SteveF and Peter M

ByronBayChris Posted 28March, 2014 Report Share Posted 28March, 2014 Do we agree.....it's a T not an S, or perhaps I am.showing my bran power again :-(
Mike D'Silva Posted 28March, 2014 Report Share Posted 28March, 2014 definately a T.. does the chassis number tell which country of origin? The rear is all wrong.. the engine could be right but no idea of the correct number. Seats are wrong. I think it could be a fun enthusiast car, but it's not correct enough to be worth much. My main concern, would be the conversion. Her husband did it himself in the garage. She has someone coming to look tonight. If its still there next week, I might organise an inspection. ByronBayChris Posted 28March, 2014 Report Share Posted 28March, 2014 I think it is a US originally, a 1973 911T-E. Maybe sporto. Either 925 or 915 gearbox when delivered. CIS also. Do we have the engine number yet?
ByronBayChris Posted 28March, 2014 Report Share Posted 28March, 2014 No shots of the interior? The home conversion could be Ok.if her husband was Magnus!!! It is getting less exciting for me as the hours tick by.
Simonoz Posted 28March, 2014 Report Share Posted 28March, 2014 It'll be sold pretty quickly I understand its inspection is arranged A 73.5 Targa is a very very rare car in Ny derivative One in the US is listed at $250,000+ I'm told The best plan would be to take it back to the shell and put it right given its rarity, having sold the incorrect parts to reduce the starting cost to more like $20k. $20k will buy only a poor early shell these days. The owner was an engineer. He knew what he was doing albeit most people don't like what he did at all. It's not for me and it'll be interesting see how it ends up. In other words if it is half decent its going to sell at or close to the 35k. quick or the disappointed these days the idea that we are going to find a dust covered S for sale at 19950 and owned by the widow of norman hamiltons dog walker is long gone... The__J__Factor Posted 28March, 2014 Report Share Posted 28March, 2014 Hi everyone - I have only recently started looking at 911s and while I know what I like (wide body/updates/mechanical updates) I have little idea to what these cars are really worth. I am not a Porsche purist and originality is not so high on my list. Ideally I'd love a black 993 Turbo but that's not going to happen. I have seen these two cars on carsales which are local to me and have newer engines and other mods: 1. 1978 Blue - newly resprayed, 993 engine, lots of mechanical updates. List $45k Carsales ID: 610301 2. 1978 Yellow - GT2 kit I think, 993 engine, g50 box, more mods. List $40k Carsales ID: 498927 So realistically what would say these 2 are worth and or the owners on here? Thanks - Jerome.
clutch-monkey Posted 28March, 2014 Report Share Posted 28March, 2014 the blue one was built, and belongs to, a friend of mine. from memory it's decently sorted, i think it leans more towards being a track car, and the one thing i didn't like were the large spacers (get proper fitting wheels). it's been for sale for ages because he won't budge from 45k - it would sell in a heartbeat at 40 imo yellow one looks tacky, would need some details changed
The__J__Factor Posted 28March, 2014 Report Share Posted 28March, 2014 Yeah I'm not a fan of the yellow, or the wing, or the interior haha
