Non Porsche Cars Members Picture Gallery

ANF

Recommended Posts

I recently proposed a new picture thread for PFA members cars (http://porscheforum.com.au/topic/8061-members-cars-photos-poll/), the consensus, although limited, was for one thread for Porsche cars owned by member's and another for other marques owned by PFA members.

Please post up pics of your non Porsche cars :)

Some of mine have been posted in the Mercedes thread, but here goes again!

2005 Mercedes ML350 W164 - great car!

1995 Maserati 222 4v. One of three in Australia and the only red one.

1995 Mazda MX5. Build into Prodsports 2F race car. Raced at most circuits on the east coast including Bathurst twice. Won the Qld championship outright twice. Is now just a very rapid street car and does the odd sprint. Been fortunate enough to race other people's cars since it's 2010 retirement.

240hp 9300rpm and about 620kg = 0-100 in 4.0s.  It made a great noise too.  It ran into an aero wall at about 220 km/h but that felt like 400 sitting in a bathtub.  Exciting.....fear of certain death made me sell it.

Hats off sir, fantastic collection of non P-cars. 3.0CSI is my dream non Porsche car, with a huge desire for a 2002 and a 240Z.

Any more details of that 2002 you are selling? I'd like to talk about it with you if possible.

WOW! love the Ginetta and Radical!!

The Ginetta was awesome - I loved it and would dearly like to get another one day.

Sadly I had a Ferrari take mine out after he made a mistake (hit the brakes with right side wheels on the grass) - I didn't even see it coming. The downside of motorsport.

I got mine from the local agent in QLD and I'd definitely use them again.

I'll see how 6hr goes at Easter and reassess after that. I can't afford 2 race cars so really I'll either want to keep the EVO for another run at 6hr in 2017 or else I'll look at getting back into a Ginetta for the Winton / Wakefield 300's. They only cost around $60-70K (2nd hand) and have a $3K standard motor from a Mazda CX9 in them. They were very low cost to maintain and a lot of fun to drive.

Honestly - as hard as it is to admit I couldn't handle the physicality of the constant high G levels. Turn 1 at Phillip Island was 100% flat at around 240km/hr with G loads around 3. And there were 9 other corners per lap over 2.5G's.

I always found each weekend I would set my fastest lap times in Practice 1 and over the weekend I would get slower and slower as I was worn down by it. But it wasn't a fitness thing - I just didn't enjoy that level of G's where I couldn't move my head 1mm even if I wanted to, and so I'd slowly start to reduce the forces exerted on me as the weekends would go on.

Up to 2G's I'm fine (which is about what the Ginetta will do) - but over that I just don't enjoy it. It's the same as I don't really enjoy Go Karts for the same reason.
