I still have literally thousands of dollars worth of parts to fit to the car - I just need to find the time.  With a 4 year old finding that time is hard - hence the sale.  This is probably a good time to address the reason for sale.  We have a business expansion opportunity that some spare money would help with.  As stated finding time to do the little jobs is increasingly hard with my 4 year old soaking up my spare time.  From the time perspective I think maybe something more modern (like a Boxster/ Cayman) might give me Porsche time with less maintaining/ restoring etc.  Given most of my driving is in the city maybe a PDK or Triptronic will be more suitable as well.  I absolutely know I'll probably regret this but what can you do.

As stated there are some jobs I still have to do.  Off the top of my head the list would be -

The front valance/ bumper area could do with some paint correction - (any interested parties will get sent detailed pictures prior to inspecting if required).

I have several excellent condition interior pieces that I have collected to change out for some worn pieces.  I have been waiting to fit these when I get the head lining replaced.

There are lots of little things that I have as replacement items waiting to be fitted (most of them are "when something else is off jobs" ).

Looks like someone is going to get a nice car Jason, shame you have to let it go.

Great example.

Good luck with the sale

Thanks Niko,

I think it is a good one.  Lot's of time, money, effort & enjoyment (plenty of frustration & f#@ks too) has gone into it in the last 3 years.  Won't be my last Porsche for sure.  Maybe a Cayman for me next.

Cheers Tingy,

Not really fussed if it doesn't sell to be honest but have a business opportunity that I'd like to use the money on rather than borrow more right now.  Thought I'd see if there was any interest here before I go down the carsales route.

Writing an add that covers everything isn't easy though.  I've been writing for 2 days 😀

Do you have any idea on a price yet Jason, or is it still a work in progress? The original post doesn't have an asking price, (or atleast, I haven't spotted one)

My best mate who did his mechanical apprenticeship on P cars in the mid  and late 80s, is up your way, and I'm trying to get him into a Porsche..... This could be the first port of call..

Hey there, I'm working on the add as we speak mate.  Not 100% sure of my asking price yet, though it will reflect (realistically 😊 the costs thus far).  It would seem that there's a bit of a price slump at the moment & a number of S2's currently available & languishing on Carsales.  Hopefully that's a reflection on the cars rather than the true interest of buyers.  I'm hopping mine might stick out above the crowd with having such a large amount of recent, verifiable, quality work performed.  I have had some phone inquiries already.  There will definitely be a high 3 number at the start, possibly a 4.  Maybe I'm dreaming but I'd just keep it if I can't get something realistic.  It's just too good to give away.  Cheers, Jason.

Jase probably comes back to the motivation behind the sale. Selling my Macan in a slow cluttered market at the top price had me take it of and on CS. Pressure from here and circumstances for the buyer actually got it sold. Always comes back to meeting the market and allowing you to move on to what you want to do next is my pricing strategy.

looks very nice mate GLWS

Must be hard to consider letting her go Jason, they are a great car, GLWTS mate

I've been procrastinating for a long while, some business stuff just influenced me recently.  Might not get a buyer the way the market is at the moment.  We'll see.  I was only saying to a mate on a drive last week that I fall in love with the car everytime I go out for a run with the Porsche crew up here.  It just gives & gives without ever missing a beat.

I've been on a few drives with this car, it's certainly the type of 944 I'd direct a potential purchaser to as all the heavy lifting has been done.  I also like the colour!  Good luck with the sale Jason, there are always mixed emotions selling Pcars so I hope it all turns out the best for you.

Jason!  I can't believe you're considering selling our love child!  We've been through so much blood, sweat, blood, skin, swearing, blood, beer etc. together it would be like losing a child, only worse.  How could you forget the joy of doing the torque tube bearings - I can't forget them - neither can my impact driver...  Don't mention the clutch or the suspension or the terrific work the Buchanans did on it when you bought it.  But now there's nothing of any import left to do, so it's probably getting a bit boring, just having a reliable fast-ish car.  OK, you've convinced me!

IF (and that's a big if) I find a buyer Rob it will be a sad day.  I have really enjoyed doing all of the work to the car & learning new skills. Plus I'm always glad that most of the blood shed during the last 3 years has been yours.  The torque tube & clutch jobs were epic missions weren't they!  In the not too distant future there maybe something else to work on.

I'm contemplating ditching the 911 for a 1st gen cayman

Wise man Mike, you won't look back if you make the decision.    Sensational cars.

I'd just say if you're going 987 I would go the Gen 2.

But I know you will have already checked all that out.

I drove one recently.   Was sublime.  A little noisy (possibly combo of tyres/ exhaust etc).  Cabin is tightish ( certainly much tighter than the 944.  But it is very, very pretty.
