TE911 Posted 13February, 2014 Report Share Posted 13February, 2014 This has dropped to $30k now - listing mentions this - so sounds like she's a bit rough and needs TLC! Had a look at it yesterday and yeah this car needs some real TLC. NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED It is aus delivered, serviced mainly at trevet. it seem as if its had a hit at the back. Its had bumpers and deck lid (bad job using filler on deck lid) repainted in the wrong shade of grey, paint is chipping off in engine bay, drivers door paint chipped off needs repaint, interior not at its best no rear seats or seat belts, dealer says car hasn't been driven in 5 or so years, they have a new soft top and that the car would need a repaint and new upholstery That's just the out side i didn't start or take it for a test drive. Its sad to see a 964 in this condition. It did have new tires though

It just shows that theres always a reason why these types of cars don't sell and they aren't as cheap as they seem to be. Photos make a turd look like a polished pearl! Russ Posted 13February, 2014 Report Share Posted 13February, 2014 I think like earlier cabrios the factory hardtop options are out there just hard to find would make a cabrio purchase viable as it transforms the whole car into a coupe (and plugs in the rear demister) withers, 911barber, edgy and 1 other

Description tells the full story: - Last but not least a top end rebuild in 2009 to replace a broken piston ring. Autohaus has a good reputation. 550Spyder Posted 16February, 2014 Report Share Posted 16February, 2014 Mike - don't get me started on sellers apparently hell bent on sobatarging their sales. These muppets take the cake. http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Porsche-911-Carrera-1997/AGC-AD-15230646/?Cr=23&sdmvc=1 As a 1997 porsche 993 transplanted into a 996 body and running a v6 engine from a boxster, it is a pretty rare car. I think I will buy it and being so rare can probably buy a Carrera 3.2, 964 & 993 with the proceeds.
