Recommended Posts

Has this 924 GT been mentioned? located in Melbourne...

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/907485-924-carrera-gt-sale.html

Car sold for over asking even considering the $30K of original parts missing.

Makes this look cheap  http://handh.co.uk/Auctions/20-04-2016-ImperialWarMuseumDuxford-1413/1981Porsche924CarreraGT-41039.aspx

Anyone for a GT2?

- 5 x 996s from $319k to $459k (only 29 Aus delivered less several write offs so probably a quarter of all of them are currently for sale including 2 at RSR)

- 5 x 997s from $440k to $550k.

Spoilt for choice!

$10k price drop on this one:

Still has $25k to go to the asking price when it was advertised as an SC.

At what point is it a worthwhile rescue project.

@9er, you've been down this road recently rescuing a forward dated 930 - thoughts?

I would have thought that unless it's a matching numbers example, probably wouldn't be worth it .... and that's not disclosed in the advert.

Also, it's a lefty, so doesn't hold the same weight here as an original RHD .....

A converted left hooker just got listed for $135K ..... cant see this one being able to be saved for any less than that. There would be a ton of cash needed to save this one.

Any turbo below 100k you could argue is ready for re homing. If all the underpinnings are correct and its sound and you don't have to do significant repaint,  reckon a thrifty bugga could get it looking like a 3.3 again for around 15-20 k + - though this white one with that ass candy removed wheels and a few other tweaks could just be a fun car

IGNORE LAST POST QUOTE GLITCH..

Hasnt this car got  YOUR name all over it Turbo??

Had a look and a quick drive a few months ago. The asking price is considerably fairer now ;) . Presented an interesting conundrem as yes I would love an early turbo and black on black to boot...

Cost of housing prevents me from joining the game.

And they found an early tail aswell..

It will never sell especially when its YOTC and 77 is the special number of the day :D

The seat covers and bluetooth on this make it special , let alone production numbers

In 2077 your children will be way ahead of the game with this being left to them as your legacy I promise

I don't hate the kit except for the stupid wing and exhaust tip.  At some point it just becomes an enjoyable car to own for someone, assuming decent mechanical condition?  Not every car needs to be a rolling museum piece, nice as they are.

I'll wager a million bucks they won't ;) Keep up with daily fibre and step classes and you may see I'm right!

so you get a million bucks if it doesn't go up in value, or you get a car which has gone up in value?

theres win-win thinking for you!

A million will be worth bugger all by then , so it should' stress Symsy's retirement pension too much. More's the point , I doubt the cars will be driveable in 2077. You can overthink this one or not!

It is interesting, unfortunate that so many of the high value items are missing. (I am assuming all important numbers are correct)

I'm seeing $10K in wheels and seats alone, and that is without correcting the rest of the interior.

Most important I think, would be whether the engine/trans  are a solid base to start with, if they were I reckon it could be cost effective @75
