ByronBayChris Posted 7September, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 7September, 2014 Very nice! Congratulations - you are a lucky man. Then again, all of you with owned Porsches are lucky! As opposed to stolen ones?

ByronBayChris Posted 7September, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 7September, 2014 How did you find it then? Keep the sugar scoops for a while...drives the locals mad I had been emailing (hounding...maybe stalking) some US dealers who always seemed to have a turnover of 71-73 cars. I had specific requirements (coupe, tangerine or green, as original as possible) so I just kept waiting Finally this one came up which was being sold through this dealer on consignment. It shows that asking around, being a pain and always being ready to roll with the payment is crucial. When I found this, I had agreed to purchase it within 30 minutes. Then had it checked out by a local who gave it the thumbs up and wired the deposit that evening. Then informed my wife about the new purchase....which went surprisingly well But geez.....how am I supposed to now wait WEEKS for it to even turn up in this country

ByronBayChris Posted 7September, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 7September, 2014 Forgot to mention........my first born was in 1994 (so the 993 matches that one) and my wife was born in 1972, so now I have that one covered too. Just now need to buy a 1968, followed by a 1995, 1998, 2009 and finally a 2012.
Mike737 Posted 7September, 2014 Report Share Posted 7September, 2014 Slipery slope has turned more into a landslide of doom for you if you're buying a car for each birth year!

tazzieman Posted 8September, 2014 Report Share Posted 8September, 2014 Yes, I think it best to stop at 2 That defeatist attitude will get you nowhere! Cars are not children and are much much cheaper to maintain Maybe think of 2.4 A '68 , not the perfect family...
