Spray on and wipe off or spray and high pressure hose off?

Bugs are normally on the front of the car and I try to avoid using high pressure hose on the front of the car as you can get little chips from rocks and the high pressure water can make these chips bigger.

Personally with WD40 I wash the front bumper, than spray and soak letting bugs soften, wipe off with a bug sponge and then wash the bumper again to remove any residue.

Alot of people on the Net swear by spraying Mr Sheen on your front bumper before you go for a drive as bugs will just wipe off at the end of the trip

Used Mr Sheen on light aircraft to remove bugs from leading edges (without deice boots), nose cone, engine cowls and windscreen, as Mr Sheen does not contain ammonia, which causes plastics (acryllic screen and windows) to go milky.

ok had a big afternoon on the bugs....

It is not advised to use high pressure on the wrap, so that was out.

WD40 nope.....bugs still there.

Mr Sheen...helps a bit.   I then mixed Mr Sheen with AUTOGLYM liquid polish.   helped even more.

What I have found is that the wrap is actually very durable and you can rub into it reasonably heavily without causing marks.

The warranty card also says you can buff the wrap, as long as it is on slow mode.   So I might give that a go...maybe

However, at the end of the day (TODAY THAT IS) most of the marks are gone, just a few persistent ones are still visible on certain angles.

The shade of the garage also enhances the blemishes, so once the sun shines again I will check it out.

just don`t get too drunk to be bothered to clean them off

I was actually net working and socialising.:P

Niko what wrap is on your car? My cars are wrapped with Xpel Ultimate which is self healing. Any blemishes repair themselves when in the sun. Got some big buck guts at the track on the weekend, might get it them this weekend and give the Adams All Purpose Cleaner a go. Supposed to be great for bugs.

I have some of this bowdens bug and tar remover, works very well on tar, so I assume the same on bugs.

Personally I prefer to just soak the bugs off by wetting the car, then place wet micro fibre towels over the bug affected areas, hose the towels to keep wet. Leave on for about an hour or so in a shaded area. Bugs go soft, hose bugs off or light sponge, no chemicals needed.

The instructions for the wrap say that bug and tar remover is a big NO NO.

The rest sounds like a good idea.   Thanks

And all you other blokes.... stop picking on me......I will catch a complex or something....

It is called 'PREMIUM SHIELD" (from The Invisible Car Bras)

I don't think the wrap is at fault, I really should have cleaned the bloody things off as soon as I got the chance.

Unfortunately I don't think it is the self healing type.:(

I'm thinking (hoping) the clay bar will probably do the trick...

Thanks Spilller..

A bit of cloudy ammonia on a microfiber seems to do the trick for me...

Tried it on old and new paint (old &new car) & no troubles.

Try on an inconspicuous area first as I would hate to hear of any problems. Depends on paint type, coatings etc etc...;)

UPDATE....tried the clay......helped a bit.<_<

Then tried "SWIRL" helped a bit more.;)

Result.....8 out of 10 .....still a few marks there, but I think it is going to stay like that till I pluck up the courage and give it a buff.

Thanks for everyones suggestions.....

Boils down to "I shoulda"  cleaned them off, asap, after the little suckers committed Hari Kari  on my bonnet and front bar.:(

Thanks Fraz, virtually impossible to photograph, the black just doesn't let you see the marks in a photograph.   It is only on certain angles that you can pick them up.

In reality I am pretty happy with how it is, I'm going to be the only one who knows where the marks are, unless someone really wants to go over it.

Plus the car is going to get a few more marks on it over time, nothing I can do about that, so I will live with it as is.

I am a bit of a hard task master, so in reality it is probably not that bad.  Plus it is only on the wrap not the duco.

Re the micro fibre, I am doing that now as a last try, but its not really bugs anymore it is just the marks where they had been, if that makes any sense.
