As the title states, I am considering selling my 996.1 C4 coupe, as I am not using it as much as it deserves. It is a 2001 model, seal grey, black interior, manual, 89,9XX km, factory GT3 wheels, genuine GT3 front bumper and side skirts, and in excellent condition (Opti Coated and swirl free). Full service history. I’d be looking in the order of $80k. If you are interested, DM me and we can speak. But not interested in being told (by DM or posts) that I am thinking too high on $. I am very happy to keep it. Located in Sydney.

I had the genuine 996.1 side skirts installed by the body shop who sprayed them. I believe they are held on by 3M strips at the top. See here an installation page someone else posted: http://apex996.blogspot.com/2008/09/gt3-aero-kit-installation.html?m=1 Also, you might want to think about having your existing sills clear wrapped as small rocks etc will get into the gap at the top of the side skirts and sit above the 3M tape

SOLD. Thanks PFA Selling the genuine Porsche roof box for my wife’s Macan. We no longer use it as we have now have a bigger car for long trips. We use it with Porsche roof racks but it should fit any rack with an accessory slot (attaches by feet sliding into slot). Purchased from Porsche for $1,310.95 in July 2019. Used less than 10 times. Selling for $900. Photos below. In excellent condition with only very minor marks at the back edge from resting it on the ground (can provide more pictures if needed). Cleaned and treated with aqua wax after every use. Then stored undercover and with a sheet on top. Makes the Macan a real hauler and also nice and sleek unlike other boxes. Pickup only. From Sydney Eastern Suburbs. PM if interested.

I used to use aqua wax but now use Gyeon Wet Coat (https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/gyeon-q2m-wetcoat-500ml.html - they sell it in bulk too). Amazing stuff. Wash car, spray it on, rinse it off and dry the car. I use it on my 2007 Audi which has never seen a clay bar or polisher and is parked outside, and it beads water for weeks (probably months).

UV paint protection coating- what is the best and safest option?
D2000 replied to 911virgin's topic in Concourse and Care
I had a black beemer that the prior owner had permaguard applied to when new. Not a dot left of it when I bought the car and it was about 4 years old at that stage. Mind you the prior owner must have taken it to car washes as there was pretty good swirling in the paint. I’ve had Opticoat Pro on my 911 for about 5 years and still seems perfect to me with beading and gloss. I am careful with how I wash it, however, ie two bucket, etc -

I reckon this is the kind of thing that the mechanic should be doing when you get it serviced. I tend to ask for it to be done, particularly the sunroof drains -

I had a 2007 Kluger (GSU45R). I must drive heavier than the rest of you or at least shorter distances because my typical fuel was over 15L/100km. Highway was better. It was an ok car. Enough power and handled fine. But I found it expensive to service, heavy on brakes and tires and it broke down twice in the 8+ years I owned it (once with a punctured radiator and the other time with a failed alternator). It also developed a water leak into the rear passenger side footwell (not sunroof related) that I couldn’t get to the bottom of. I was glad to be rid of it when I sold it late last year. That said it sold easily, but I listed it low with a view to moving it quickly. I was bought by a dealer (pretending not to be one) I didnt replace it with another Kluger for two reasons. First, I didn’t rate the ownership experience. And second the the middle row are now 60:40 split fold which meant not practical for surfboards and kids In the car for long trips

Pre Purchase Inspection Shop Recommendation (Sydney)

I get my car serviced at BWA and am happy with them. Pricing reasonable and don’t seem to over service -
Adelaide and surrounds: Safe car wash or good detailing product store
D2000 replied to D2000's topic in Concourse and Care
That was my concern too. Ended up at super cheap which also had the Bowdens range! -
Just driven to Adelaide (Mount Barker) in my new Raptor truck. Have taken out a small city of bugs on the way. I don’t have my detailing kit with me so either need to find a good car wash that won’t ruin the paint (it is swirl free and coated with Opti-Coat) or a good place to go and buy the kit I need to clean it properly. Any recommendations?
