MFX Posted 8August, 2021 Author Report Share Posted 8August, 2021 While I am embracing my mantra of 'If it is worth doing it is worth doing twice', this week go back and have a better look at the Ferrari intake on the Alfarrari. 3legs, Troubleshooter, LeeM and 1 other
3legs Posted 8August, 2021 Report Share Posted 8August, 2021 Every second you were making those cuts to the plenum I kept thinking $1000, $2000, $3000 and so on. Poor old Enzo would be rolling in his grave BTW yes I did notice the finger MFX and Troubleshooter
Troubleshooter Posted 8August, 2021 Report Share Posted 8August, 2021 Armed with your grinder and welder Jeff you go where angels fear to tread! I know it's not a drag car but personally I'd love to see a flat original bonnet and the two big red fezza bricks hanging out the top. 3legs and MFX
MFX Posted 15August, 2021 Author Report Share Posted 15August, 2021 It was time I revisited the bonnet bulge to better suit the Ferrari engine on the Alfarrari. st3ve, tomo, Scott930 and 1 other

3legs Posted 16August, 2021 Report Share Posted 16August, 2021 Yep looks much better and I love the intro (s). Also and i'm just thinking out loud but if you need just a little more room under the bonnet you can always do what the boys used to do back in the 70's where they raised the back of the bonnet about 5mm. I think that was for more airflow for them but it may work for you if needed. MFX

MFX Posted 22August, 2021 Author Report Share Posted 22August, 2021 This week I work on making the Ferrari engine bay symmetrical by building a custom washer bottle and then attack some of the remaining rust. 3legs, Naldz88 and tomo

MFX Posted 29August, 2021 Author Report Share Posted 29August, 2021 This week I thought I would go back and see if it is actually possible to fit air conditioning into the very small amount of space I have in the Alfarrari. tomo and 3legs
Coastr Posted 29August, 2021 Report Share Posted 29August, 2021 Did you look at the design of the classic retrofit kit? The factory 911 air is recirc only - I’ve always assumed that is because you can get better cooling if you are continually cooling much the same air. My concern with your plenum-fed Ac is that you are only cooling incoming air, and in summer that is going to make the system less efficient on hot days. Also it’s unlikely that your plenum has any type of filter on it, and uses a ram-air effect to push the air into the car. This will also send dust/debris in which eventually clog the evaporator fins and reduce it further. I would see if you can get an off the shelf cabin air filter into that plenum opening. i would probably have the Ac on permanent recirc and push the fresh air into some under dash vents, somewhere near the Ac intake if you wanted to have fresh air to be picked up by the Ac inlet. Also might have missed it but where is the evaoporator drain pipe? With that big flat surface area might pay to have one on each side, unless it is naturally shaped like a sink.
