Whilst I keep my eyes glued to the GT cars, I am merely a casual observer of the other variants... I have watched the 997.1 Carrera S reasonably closely... 997.2 not so much.

I am looking into a replacement car for the old man, as he’s going to step out of the Macan GTS and replace it with something of similar value, smaller, and more fun, but daily friendly too, and hopefully near the bottom of its depreciation curve... so I thought; 997.2 Carrera 2 “S” PDK, even better if we could get one with a warranty still, and whilst it is slim pickings... this one came up:

Seems like the kind guy I’d buy a car from.. but I am not sure on the $$$ has anyone transacted one lately?

It seems like most good 997.1 Carrera S 6 speed cars are right around $100k neat, 30% is a bit of a premium for the PDK & other updates.. although it’s not unpalatable... but for an extra $30k again your into 991.1 territory.

I had a .1S and quickly got bored of it.

not quick enough / too modern / not engaging enough?

interested what you were comparing it to.

Hey Jim

I’m trying think back why the S didn’t do it for me. It was my first Porsche and I thought I would own it forever.  But after driving it back to back with my other cars in the collection (evo 6.5, Sti V5, Rx7 spirit R and a few more) it was the least special.
Probably the most capable Among them but I found I never wanted to take it out and it was my least favourite to drive. So I sold it and haven’t missed it.
But I do think I bought the wrong model ie GT3 next time.

Slim pickings indeed - only 3  997.2 C2S Carreras listed and one is a UK import.

The price isn't too far off what others seem to be going for, for quite some time, and as you note the ad reads well.

There is a premium for .2 vs .1 in all markets.

ive been tracking 997.2 prices

that car youre looking at is IMHO over priced esp with 100,000 kms for a carrera, not a Carrera S

PCM sold one v quickly 1 month ago, silver, Carrera S  997.2 pdk, 1 owner, 40000kms, with sports exhaust, full leather, sports chrono, alot of options,  for $140k drive away

apologies, the car youre talking about is a carrera S, still overpriced IMHO

That was a 997.2 4S coupe actually.

Very high for a 997.1 non Australian delivery!

Alex Holland started out at $94,900 on this and then adjusted the ask for Covid pricing  :Confused02:

Alex holland did that on a 77 yellow 911 sportomatic, he was asking $125k, then it went up $25k (after he sold a white sporto 911 from 1976 , whose price also went from $90k to 99k)

strategy seems to be working for AH

you are correct sir, it was a 4S.  PCM  price their used cars accurately- they all move fast

Yup, seen it, import + high k's + high asking price ... the holy trinity if you want to advertise a dust collector!

Yes, nice spec... but high $$ for a 7.1 IMO, I personally don't see PCCB as plus either.

Looks like a nice example, but honestly I cant see the value in that at the asking price! $20-30k price reduction might pique some interest...

Claimed to possibly be the "cleanest" yet not one interior or engine bay photo - did he just wash it and therefore it's the cleanest?

A cavalcade of pretty locales is one thing - at that asking there's 996 turbo hips and boost to be had.

I am interested to follow to see if this is where the market price is now at..

My guess is it'll sit on the shelf and gather dust... not exactly an exciting spec or colour? The Atlas Grey one that CTS had with PCCB too a while to move at a similar ask.
