Coastr Posted 15July, 2014 Report Share Posted 15July, 2014 Being an 86 not going to have 231 horses as suggested in the ad? Prussian blue would have looked fantastic! Depends...HK delivered, may not have been tuned for Aus fuel. Nice looking car. I wonder if it will sell quickly - the pricing is pretty high given not original colour and imported. Although blue/blue would have been very......blue
Peter M Posted 15July, 2014 Report Share Posted 15July, 2014 It will be interesting to see how quickly it sells. There's not much competition in terms of alternative cars in that sort of condition atm.I'd bet money it's a 231 hp motor given it's origin. Dreamr Posted 15July, 2014 Report Share Posted 15July, 2014 Although I don't quite understand.... there are 2 x Aussie delivered cars on carsales at the moment, and they're not selling.... they have been there for a couple of weeks now... one at $49,500 (83 SC) & one at $54,500 (86 Carrera).......... Anyone have any ideas as to why they are still on the market? Too expensive??
withers Posted 15July, 2014 Report Share Posted 15July, 2014 I like this I must say! Has a nice vid of the car too. Not sure on the price tho.. but the other 2 on carsales are significantly more expensive and RHD. So what does the RHD conversion cost on a 914? http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-914-1974/SSE-AD-2768136/?Cr=0&sdmvc=

The 83 has very high miles, and despite the engine being rebuilt, it was a while ago. $50k is pushing it I think, though I'm sure the owner is negotiable. Dreamr Posted 15July, 2014 Report Share Posted 15July, 2014 Hey Coastr, I also thought a little high, but with Aussie cars being non existent, I thought it might just go..... how many more are going to come up for sale??

firstone Posted 15July, 2014 Report Share Posted 15July, 2014 That black SC is a jap import i called him up and it was imported to and converted in WA. He never got back to me at all. Told me too many tales to keep up the story IMO. Anyhoo I had an offer on an R33 Skyline 6 weeks ago rejected and now he's willing so that project will keep my head busy for a while. I have a hankering to slide and it seems its an affordable sport with much growth in my area,( Ipswich ) not really but only 1 1/2 hrs away. I'm not an aggressive driver but the chance to learn to drift successfully will bring me some joy. I'd like my boys to get a real feel in the seat. All accounts say the RB25 turbo is a very reliable and cheap to replace power source.
Russ Posted 15July, 2014 Report Share Posted 15July, 2014 Down to 42k, I wonder if this will be kicking around Newcastle soon. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-930-1988/SSE-AD-2465716/?Cr=38&sdmvc=1 Andial Intercooler, and it looks like they've even gone to the effort of putting the 930 tachometer in. Wonder how those 964 bumpers attached (I'm assuming just bolted to the guards without any of the backing honeycomb/dampeners so it'll fold up in a prang) ...and I'm sort of wondering about the 1985 SC (if they're enthusiasts)
SteamWolf Posted 16July, 2014 Report Share Posted 16July, 2014 that 930 needs a lot of money spent to get it back to correct and original condition, but it'd be a fun car as it is. Apparently the early 3.0L 930 is mechanically expensive as well. It's a risky path to take but may pay off for someone.
Russ Posted 16July, 2014 Report Share Posted 16July, 2014 it does say it's 3.3 in the ad, but I don't know if I'd trust it

Lovely photos, however, may I suggest you adjust the warmness of them to portray more accurate colors? The car looks black or a dark gunmetal grey.
