Peter M Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 (edited) Listed at $115k now marked as sold. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-Cayman-2011/SSE-AD-3553121/?Cr=3 2011 cayman 2.9 pdk....bugger all kmsWhat to choose? A 30 year old 911 or a near new Cayman with $40k spare for hookers and blow. Looking at how the Cayman is parked crooked across the footpath make me think what choice the current owner made. Low Kms? Too wasted to drive obviously... Edited 21September, 2015 by Peter M

Peter M Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 ...Mike's edited out his link to the low km 2011 Cayman. Maybe he wants to buy it - well he hasn't bought a Porsche for about 3 weeks so is overdue for another - and pulled the link to reduce the potential competition! turboT and T-Man

LeeM Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 (edited) You know that Mike, or just speculation? Anyway, it'll either be sold or up to $54k tomorrow no doubt . I'd buy it if it wasnt too bad, as I'm tired of waiting to fix this f.....g 912. If its not on the road by January, it's for sale and I'm buying a f.....g CaymanLike this http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Porsche-Cayman-2008/OAG-AD-6835567/?Cr=7 40.000k's, manual, bigger wheels etc for under $60k Edited 21September, 2015 by LeeM
Mike D'Silva Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 The owner says its a uk car, but he isnt a porsche guy. so who really knows. I thought the wipers would be the other way round if it was an original rhd? update.. now listed as sold...

LeeM Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 Probably not. I wouldnt have in this day and age with a 911 under $40k
BlitzKonig Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 That was so quick... i wonder if the buyer inspected it? At that price, it would be worth taking the risk.
hugh Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 That was so quick... i wonder if the buyer inspected it? Doubt it, it was a 30k 911. Surprised it lasted the hour see as it had 4 wheels and looked to be in 1 piece.
James P Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 Hopefully an enthusiast got onto it & not a dealer... At that price, it would be worth taking the risk. Trust me you want to inspect it, i purchased a 911 years ago from interstate & the seller stated it only needed minor work! well a full engine rebuild later that cost me more than the car price... But it was the good old days of cheap 911s & now i have a very nice car to drive completely rebuilt. With current prices I'm ahead regarding my costs... but to do that now I'm not sure... No alerts on gumtree. I would have driven down and put cash in his hand. Yeah but even at 33k you could do a full motor rebuild for 15k and still be ahead. Yes, there is a lot of things that can be wrong with it. But you have a car to start with and work on. If you're going to keep it because you love it, then time isn't that big of an issue. LeeM Posted 21September, 2015 Report Share Posted 21September, 2015 Oh I'll contest the 'time isn't that big of an issue' comment! I've owned mine for 3 years and not driven it further than 300 metres! A mentally taxing thing to do this resto shit.
