Recommended Posts

I know I'll regret this but..... thought I'll put this out in front of the forum first...

Here's the Carsalesy copywriting and cliche pics.  I might list it up there soon unless I change my mind.

Powered by a 3.6 litre engine with 235kW power @ 6800rpm it launches to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
With the power windows down and sunroof open, the iconic Porsche Flat 6 cylinder engine is an intoxicating and addictive experience.  With ABS brakes and 4 airbags protecting driver and passenger it’s a safe drive, but we both know that’s not why you’re buying it...  Power steering, cruise control and climate control air conditioning will keep you comfortable even on long drives on the warmest days - try that in an old air-cooled Porsche!

The series 2 996 really is a great 911, still giving a very ‘raw’ driving experience.  It is not dumbed down by the modern driver aids featuring in the latest Porsche’s, nor is it hot, heavy to steer & uncomfortable like the older cars.  They are fantastic buying right now, with the 996 “hero” models such as the GT2, GT3 and Turbo rising dramatically recently, the next enthusiast model in line is the series 2 Carrera Rwd Manual Coupe.  This spec has the best power to weight ratio over the heavier 4S, cabriolet's and autos, and even the later 997!, and being Rwd retains the steering feel Porsche is famous for without diluting it by sending drive to the front wheels.  Getting this modern classic now while you still can will prove to be a smart move!

It comes with all new delivery books, all original service log books, all 10 years of annual warranty inspection documentation, original sales book, 2 x original keys. Recently fitted with new battery and Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres.  Victorian registration is paid until March 2017.  Will come with a complete roadworthy certificate.

The smiles per mile are worth every cent at $64,950.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well done (of sorts :) ) what is next?

For now, build a mental Group 4 Rallye 924.

With no license for almost 7 more months I'm in no rush so I'll chip away at that while keeping an eye out for something interesting.
