hugh Posted 25January, 2015 Report Share Posted 25January, 2015 Funny, I thought the 'S' was a US spec for 77? Looks like a nice car, decent dollars for a 2.7 sporto if he gets it.

Good copywriting (& images) makes the world of difference... It's an expensive sporto....and I love it! Funny...just this morning the wife goes "Did you ever think we'd have 2 Porsches in the driveway?" I said "Yeah, but I didn't think 1 would be yours!" She says "Maybe there'll be 3 one day...." Me, "Well a classic one would be good.." Her, "Can it be an Auto? I wanna be able to drive it!" Hmmmmm....... She don't did impact bumpers though... reggiegums Posted 27January, 2015 Report Share Posted 27January, 2015 I am looking at this car and have had discussions with the owner. Is it rude to discuss the condition of the car on this forum? I'm asking as I'd like some advice.

SteveF Posted 27January, 2015 Report Share Posted 27January, 2015 I don't think there is anything left to show that it is a 1972 car! Still looking for the side oil filler which I believe was only available on this model year.
reggiegums Posted 27January, 2015 Report Share Posted 27January, 2015 Alright then. The car has been hit, rather heavily on the driver's side. it was repaired, but admittedly, poorly and it slopes down more on that side. When it was repaired, the whole car was re-sprayed but not the original green. The engine has apparently been rebuilt but little or no receipts. the gearbox was not fully rebuilt but syncro done on the 2nd gear. I have no issue with any other part of the car except the above mentioned. Is this an issue?

firstone Posted 27January, 2015 Report Share Posted 27January, 2015 Would you repair the car and do a full respray in another colour without repairing the car properly? Why would someone do it that way? Rightly or wrongly....These issues would make me think other things are not done properly. Only my thoughts. Mike D'Silva Posted 27January, 2015 Report Share Posted 27January, 2015 i spoke to him today.. couldnt help myself... it's booked in for a couple of PPI's this week.. dont think it will be available after this week for sure...
Dreamr Posted 27January, 2015 Report Share Posted 27January, 2015 I wonder if he would have been better putting it for a PPI himself and just emailing the results to anyone interested ....Put the asking price up a bit (as it's quite cheaply priced) to offset the cost, and save a ton of time driving it all over town to different workshops for different people .....Seems the only ones making anything out of this are the workshops charging $700 + for a PPI ....
