withers Posted 24April, 2015 Report Share Posted 24April, 2015 I'm happy as I finally got Kate wearing a real watch! Usually she was wearing some G-Shock Minis I got from Japan. Now she's wearing a 36mm Seiko Diver SKX013K on a rubber strap! I'm so proud She is even making an effort to wear it as often as she can so it doesn't stop. I've even seen her sitting there slowly rocking it back and forth to wind it
JustJames Posted 24April, 2015 Report Share Posted 24April, 2015 Nice looking watch! It won't be any sort of surprise that I'm a BIG fan of Seiko automatics.
LeeM Posted 24April, 2015 Report Share Posted 24April, 2015 You clowns arent helping me! My self imposed ban on looking at Ebay or starting to buy retro watches is coming apart very rapidly! Both those Seiko's look great

LeeM Posted 24April, 2015 Report Share Posted 24April, 2015 Still the Citizen Bullheads, but have seen some of the 'Octagon' bullheads on the Vintage Citizen Facebook page and NEED to buy one! I've bid on 2 in the past coupla weeks, but theyre getting too rich for my liking. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=citizen+bullhead+octagon&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=667&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=UBI6VfC-IIGgmQW3o4BY&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ#imgrc=e2Z8z2XE_o-d4M%253A%3BLm4ft3DpvAP8MM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fi.imgur.com%252FItWWaar.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fforums.watchuseek.com%252Ff21%252Fwruw-fri-oct-10-a-1101594-3.html%3B1905%3B1906 https://www.facebook.com/groups/vintagecitizenwatches/
withers Posted 24April, 2015 Report Share Posted 24April, 2015 They are very nice!! Love the one that Cuong has on the FB page. Are they hard to have repaired if something goes wrong? Reason I ask is I have a Seiko Bell-Matic that I had serviced. It runs great but there's a issue with the main plate and the quick set date feature no longer works. Subsequently I can't be bothered setting the bloody thing. Alarm works nicely on it. But the button just pulls straight out of the case. Scared I'll lose it. Put me off them if so hard to fix. Watchmaker (a friend) couldn't find a new plate. They don't make them.
LeeM Posted 24April, 2015 Report Share Posted 24April, 2015 Not sure Amanda. I'm very new to older watches, and have only started looking into them since reading this thread. Someone like me that doesn't know what is what, and what value a particular watch is, can be ripped off pretty quickly. I usually impulse buy coz I like the look of a particular watch, and don't do any homework I've seen some Bullheads go for anywhere from $300 US to $2000 US, yet I'm reluctant to buy from overseas, especially Thailand or India in case they're a fake. Haven't seen one in Oz yet, but will be looking around soon. I SHOULD be saving my cash to finish the 912!
ByronBayChris Posted 24April, 2015 Report Share Posted 24April, 2015 Guys I've decided to flip this one. It's not for me... looks funny on me. EDIT - SOLD to BBChris And here it is on Mrs BBC as her anniversary present from me. I gave myself a set of Coco mats for the 72T (which look great) withers

JD86 Posted 27April, 2015 Report Share Posted 27April, 2015 Watch intro... Speedy Pro and modded Seiko 5 automatic for me. I lust after IWCs, JLCs and Chopard Mille Miglias on a daily basis. Maybe one day I'll splurge in a moment of weakness.

JD86 Posted 27April, 2015 Report Share Posted 27April, 2015 Thanks for the welcome Amanda Orion, judging by the way the light reflects on the front (hesalite not sapphire), sapphire back, and wording on the back ("First Watch" as opposed to "First and Only") I'd say we have exactly the same model 3572.50. You have excellent taste my friend
Orion03 Posted 27April, 2015 Report Share Posted 27April, 2015 well spotted! Yeah also the gold plated on the movement, which the newest sapphire sandwich doesn't do as it's all rhodium plate now.

LeeM Posted 10May, 2015 Report Share Posted 10May, 2015 So I FINALLY found a reasonably rare Citizen Bullhead 'Octagon' in Oz after looking for any kind of Bullhead for few months. I jumped on it. paid via EFT, seller great to deal with and just have to wait for delivery day. Very happy Smug git here then gets on to Ebay looking at other vintage watches straight after I do the transfer, and what pops up? A gold Bullhead about 5 km's from home. Grrr! withers
withers Posted 10May, 2015 Report Share Posted 10May, 2015 Good stuff Lee. Look forward to the wrist shot when you get it. And typical re finding one so close by after buying one!
LeeM Posted 10May, 2015 Report Share Posted 10May, 2015 Yeah pretty stoked actually Amanda. I hope to have it by the end of next week and will post up a pic or 2 I've contacted the other seller to see if we can do something with the gold one, as I'm probably going to sell a few of my newer watches to buy some older ones. Kinda got the retro/vintage watch bug at the moment withers and JustJames
withers Posted 11May, 2015 Report Share Posted 11May, 2015 Sounds like a great plan Lee. Why not put them on here? I sold my Seiko that didn't suit me.
LeeM Posted 11May, 2015 Report Share Posted 11May, 2015 May do. Still deciding whether I can sell them. I'm hopeless
