Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

Recommended Posts

I thought the previous owners comments of the car featured were interesting and frankly, how it should be:

As the owner of the above vehicle for some 30 years and having bought it to replace a 1971 911S, I am surprised at some of the comments. Investment values were the last thing on my mind . Excellent as the 911S was , to compete in the various hillclimbs and sprints that I competed in required something a bit more potent and lighter. The various prizes won and enormous enjoyment were all I ever expected.

All the original maintenance could be done myself or more complex work by some of very talented independent Porsche specialists. Having now driven since 1955, or some 60 years, this has without doubt been the best car, hence the long term ownership. A great design by brilliant engineers. The racing successes and race drivers will bear testament to that. I am really sad to have to say fairwell to it but that's how it has to be sometimes.

Already there.

They've also got a 964 C2 manual coupe with 80k on the clock due in.

interesting. I wonder if the new pricing levels are going to bring out a whole load of new stock

also as of yet unadvertised at CTS - a Jubi. Great condition with only 85kkms. Wanting over $200,000. Remember that guy selling one at $75k only a few weeks ago :) - I heard he ended up hanging onto his having been freaked out by the number of calls he got ;)

I reckon you are on the money T. The market will reach a threshold where people will see an opportunity to seriously realise the value of their cars. We have seen a couple of 993 turbos come onto the market at mid 200s and the RS at more than 50% increase on previous sale. I think they will be coming out of the woodwork!

........and the Jubi at 200k. Well that is just nuts.

So, why isn't this one sold if everything priced north of $80k sells almost instantly? I know it's been on the market for over a year but surely it can't be that bad?

Not the greatest colour combo in the world and the advert wording might suggest to some it's now in need of another engine rebuild, but surely that hardly matters at the moment...

Up until 2days ago $50K for an SC was a lot of money :)

I agree with the comments about cars coming out the woodwork. I bought my car to drive and then eventually pass on to my daughter one day (a F355 for the son). However as prices go mental I'm getting seriously tempted to move it on. The only thing holding me back is the fear that one day I realize it was a silly thing to sell and the buying one back will be another headache. Oh and the fact that I don't like many new cars.

I have to disagree ..... (sorry)

$50k for any Aussie delivered impact bumper hasn't been a lot of money for many months now .... there have been many shakes of the head regarding pricing for SC's and 3.2's over the past 6 months or so ..... and those prices have made $49k seem super cheap .... then the sale 2 days ago for $58k to the dealer, and well, say no more ....

I don't know why this one hasn't sold .... It has been bought up.a few times and I've said the same thing before ... maybe he should advertise it for $69k and then negotiate back a bit ...

I enquired about this one a few weeks ago and had a PPI arranged, but the seller didn't seem that accommodating in the end. Initially he was fine with me getting a PPI, but then after I had organised one, said that he "didn't have time or a deposit". I just had a bad gut feeling so I left it at that.

no need to be sorry mate ;) just a comment on the rapid Porsche inflation

has anyone called him/know him? Cars that hang around do seem to get a little tainted. I would pull it off, take some new pics, and put it back on in a few months for more. Or why not approach the Duttons/CTS? They would probably give him full asking at the moment.

enough said. Some people arn't ready or willing to go through the sales process. I would definitely pass it onto a dealership if I didn't have time for a bit of customer service

I went and inspected the car last weekend , and also  took it for a test drive.

The owner has a very firm(fixed) view on price.

FWIW I thought it was priced too high for what I saw, but if prices continue to rise maybe one day it will eventually be a bargain.
