Yep me too! All MB quotes are significantly higher than Shannons. Maybe Shannons not too bad after all 🤪

Just received renewal from Shannons, Spyder and 964 same agreed value but premiums up 21% (no claims no demerits), Macan same premium but value dropped by 20%, looks like I'll be shopping around again...

As a 987 Spyder owner (twice over) I'm happy to see the return of the two part roof for the RS. Running in sunshade only mode is my preferred configuration which hasn't been possible in 981 and 718 Spyders. People over dramatise the complexity of the roof (often the same people who also complain cars are getting too heavy and electronically complex). Once you've put it up and down a couple times it's easy and done in under a minute. With the roof now combined with that engine it's like having my Touring and 987 in one car, I'm starting to regret passing up a slot... 🤪

Ceramic coating in Canberra recommendation? (or Mel/Syd?)
itsujack replied to SlowCarPls's topic in Concourse and Care
Hey M, does this recommendation still stand? Father in law is looking for a Ceramic Coating option in Canberra. -

Unfortunately not my experience. I have cars insured all over the place ( NRMA VVC, Porsche Insurance and Shannons). Three are with Shannons and up for renewal this month. Same insured values, terms and garaging etc as last year, but all premiums are up significantly with two over 15% (17% and 19% respectively), called to enquire and told there is nothing more they can do, things just cost more this year... Looks like I'll be shopping around again... For reference (Shannons): 1990 964 - Insured Value $180,000, Excess $1,800, $1,655 (Club Use) 2011 Boxster Spyder - Insured Value $140,000, Excess $1,400, Premium $2,438 (Extreme Limited Use) 2018 Macan GTS - Insured Value $80,000, Excess $1,800, Premium $2,378 (Daily)

For Sale : 2009 Cayenne GTS
itsujack replied to itsujack's topic in For Sale, Barter, Trade, or Swap
Price dropped to $35k (dealing with the usual carsales crowd...), $33k PFA special 😀 -
DEPOSIT TAKEN Hi PFA, selling my Cayenne GTS. Lot of car for the money. Turn it into a Safari or just enjoy as is. Info and some pics below, more pics and info in the carsales ad here: https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2009-porsche-cayenne-gts-9pa-auto-4x4-my09/SSE-AD-14361214/ Up for sale is my Porsche Cayenne GTS 2009 SUV in great condition with full Porsche Dealer Service History. In Crystal Silver with Black Leather and Alcantara interior its a real credit to its two previous owners, everything works as it should and has not missed a beat during my ownership. A new purchase and a lack of garage space now forces the sale of this very capable luxury SUV. The GTS is the sweet spot in the Cayenne range. Incredible 4.8L Direct Injection V8 with 6 Speed Tiptronic Transmission. Sounds amazing but can still be driven quietly when needed due to the switchable sports exhaust. Adjustable Height Air Suspension (5 Levels) Electronic diff locks Variable drive modes (Comfort, Normal, Sport) Sports Exhaust 22inch Cayenne Turbo Look Wheels Pirelli Scorpion Tires Full Leather, Alcantara and Aluminium Interior Bose Stereo Opening Glass Sunroof with Sunshade GTS Sports Seats Front and Rear Factory Porsche PCM Full Privacy Glass Stainless Steel Entry Guards with Model Name Inset Roof Rails Powered Tailgate Cooled Glovebox Red Porsche Brake Calipers Tyre Pressure Monitoring System 8 Airbags Front and Rear Parking Sensors Space Saver Spare Wheel Tow Hitch Full Porsche Dealer Service History Registration through to August 2023 Logbooks and Manuals In the past month the following has been completed: wheel balance and alignment, new air filters and cabin filter, new wipers. Wheels have some minor kerb rash (quoted $100 per wheel to touch up). Minor scratches on front and rear bumpers (refer photos). Priced for a quick sale. Inspections welcome in Paddington or Surry Hills depending on time of day.

Hi PFA, this is probably a long shot but I’m looking for a silver “Porsche” branded roof box to install on my ‘98 Boxster RTS. Must be in good cosmetic condition and period correct so we’re talking late 90s early 00s. If you have one and interested in selling please let me know!

Yep! I've joined the growing number of owners who go back for more camping goodness...

Porsche finally upgrading the one that came with our 987 Spyder 😀
-
I thought I read somewhere the new turbo is still based on the 964 platform?
-
How easy is this to swap out, I imagine you could change it back to stock for summer relatively quickly??
