Niko Posted 23February, 2013 Report Share Posted 23February, 2013 Is the Escort a Twink Mike, and where were the shots taken, I can,t recognise the venues. Second shot a very early Winton maybe? Nice, Beemer, is that what they call the bat mobile.. I am assuming it,s a work in progress. I know how quick that last Beemer is, I think that's the first time I have ever seen the front of it. Niko, the first shot is the end of the main straight at the real (original) Sandown which would make it February '84 the last meeting on that version of the circuit! the other 2 are at Winton around '87 the car started off as a 1300 shopping car and morphed into a 2 litre, then a 13B Bridgeport and eventually a 13B PP with just on 300bhp with 780kgs.....yeah it went ok! The 3.0 CSA was a '74 auto with very low miles but an unhappy life, we were going to rebuild it but were a little missled by the previous owner and it was 3 x the project it should have been! we sold it in '09 after having it about 12 months. Niko Posted 23February, 2013 Report Share Posted 23February, 2013 nice power progression on the Escort, love to know how many escorts, dattos and similar ended up with rotisseries in them. The good old days.... Shame about the Beemer, they had a great body design

Chris-p Posted 24February, 2013 Report Share Posted 24February, 2013 It was just a faze..One of many many many before it..Ok I'll stop and find something to do. Geez Martin, I am a bit flawed at some of those pics. I was impressed with the fact that you drove Darth Vader's 911 but that's some pretty handy bike work. I have trouble staying upright on an exercise bike so I have new found admiration for your bike skills..... C
tazzieman Posted 24February, 2013 Report Share Posted 24February, 2013 Original 150,000km , accident and incident free , 3 owners since '85 , solid daily drive shared with the 911. Cost = 2.2k, life sometimes puts things in your favour!

tazzieman Posted 24February, 2013 Report Share Posted 24February, 2013 Yep Doish, saw it Nice looking 944 Tazzie. $2.2K. What a bargin. How did you get that car at that price?? great old guy really wanted his pride & joy it to go to a good home (& not thrashed by a boyracer) ; he suggested a price which I upped - everybody happy! It did need a cambelt change urgently and some new rubbers etc etc. I have gone through it completely, though it will need a new clutch one day ;<( not sure if I want to tackle that at home. Uncle Posted 24February, 2013 Report Share Posted 24February, 2013 Just bought the wife this so I can sell our XR6T. Hectick 20" wheels will be going on ebay in favour of some black BBS LM's and the coilovers will be wound back up to normal human height. Very nice car to drive with some nice M options in the inside. All black leather trim with no wood M dach etc. Racked up 600klm's in it over the weekend and got out feeling fresh at the end. I'll get some better photo's once the wheels are gone..
