Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

Recommended Posts

Has anybody had a look at, or know the history on this one:

http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-911-Carrera-1990/SSE-AD-955541

Apparently its not been taken out in 18 months but starts and runs well. I assume something major exists given the usual sale timeframe on '64 is about 20 minutes and its been for sale for weeks.

Follow up question, can anyone recommend a mechanic to do a PPI near the Gold Coast?

Inspected it twice and made an offer. PM me for more details.

Hi all,

I know this car has been mentioned but I couldn't see any discussion about it.

One of my friends is interested so any comments about this car (ie. price, if history is known, etc) would be appreciated.  I wonder if anyone here has looked at the car.

Cheers.

price is dead on for an aus delivered 964 turbo. there aren't many so it's hard to judge, but that is the price the last few shifted for.

no RWC is curious though

356 Speedster at the Motorclassica sold for 235K according to the Age.

http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/motorclassica-lays-down-challenge-to-motor-shows-20141027-11c7hv.html

The sold sign on the day said 267K Either way – it’s way too much.

The engine was not original (from an SC) and it was converted from LHD

Seller has to grinning.

This was one stunning car and it may be the result of Auction Fever which is spread during some actions and presents as big money being paid for cars, that then get people asking why the price, only cure is lack of funds.

Rationalisation doesn't come into it...FORD GTHO Phase 3 point and case.

in another way is it also an indication that the people collecting these cars still see the price as a bargain even if not totally original.

Remember they only made a certain number of some cars. and the demand is out stripping supply and this then flows on to what people get for "tool room" recreations with original engines

One comment made during the auction by a friend, once upon a time people went to Auctions for bargains....

This one was discussed on this thread some time ago ..... some were worried that with the amount of work done that there is still a ton to do and that is why it's up for sale ..... I don't know if thats right or not, that was just the background talk .....

Otherwise, it looks like a really nice car .....
