Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

with $38,650 in works listed, the car and that body cost only$1350.00. Started with a bargin!

As Edd China would say , "well done that man!".

$2 in $1 out is the rule with old cars. Especially if you pay others to do the labour.

That would almost be worth it for parts, or to convert it to a backdate or similar. Good base for a hot rod.

I'm wondering how much to get it back to a more original form, basically get all the fibreglass to the tip and get a 911 look back to it, might be a nice car under there in a hotrod kind of way ????

I think you could get all of the panels, lights, and bits for the car for between $5 - $10k. Then paint. If it the existing has been done well you would be looking at another $5 - $10k. Depends on how much you could do yourself, you could have a very nice neat car.

So, 996 turbo, 997s & now a 993. You don't seem to know what you really want.

It may help if you figure that out first.

Before making assumptions , I do know what I want. ?

im after a great car, within my budget

that includes any nice air cooled , 997s or 996 turbo

ad far as strategy , I work pretty much 6 days a week and have limited time

i don't have time to sit around drinking coffee everyday checking what's for sale... ? lol

as u all know, there is very limited air cooled cars for sale, .... So there's that..

As soon as good car or good value car is posted, it sells within couple hours..just don't have time to constantly monitor cars sales..

the right one will appear soon , I hope.

how much is this fantastic automobile??

ive been looking around to buy for few months but can't make my mind up as to what I want

i would assume you could buy nice tidy 996 turbo for price of this.

getting rediculas.... When I bought my first Porsche a little over 12 months ago , there were a bunch of cars like this for 50-60k

there were also around 5 or 6 996 gt3 cars for around 85k

stupid me bought wrong car....as I didn't know much about P cars back then

been looking around for a while and missed out on bargain today .... Again

2002 996 turbo , 55000km and service history for 70k

lasted all but 12 hrs on car sales

dam , got to be quik ,

second line. No assumptions made

You have to take some for a drive before you start randomly looking for good 911 examples - they are all quite different in their own way. There is also most likely a reason why all of them sell quickly and that yellow one has sat on the market. Work out a criteria and be patient and don't get caught up in the hype and rush your decision.

Set up your auto alerts

Monitor club sites

Contact any local specialist mechanics

Use the forum to its potential ;)

My 2 cents.

I think it may be closer to 30K or more to get this one back to original.....  perhaps more considering its not running at the moment, but it does look very interesting

For godsake why doesn't he pay someone a few bucks to at least charge the battery and get it running? Hard to sell a dead modded car , much better price if it's running sweetly.

If you don't mind all sorts of attention (including e-attention),  it could be a hoot to drive.

A cheap way into 911 ownership and if you did drive it around as is it would allow more time to find some "cheap" parts to convert/ fix or whatever :)

In the current climate it would be a good project for someone with the time, room and money to slowly "de 959" it back to something closer to a 911. I'm suprised it is not sold ??? You don't get much 911 for $25k anymore :(

That has been in my gumtree watch list for a while mate.... it seems like all the mechanicals are pretty well sorted! He's taken the CIS system out and installed EFI... having lived with two CIS cars lately, thats a bonus to me!

If I bought it.. gut it, back date to RSR, paint... then drive daily. There's a guy flying in from QLD today who wants to buy my G wagen.... This could be dangerous!
