Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

Recommended Posts

I won't ever own an MG though!

Oi , I think I had what you might call my first and second girl/car adventire in an MG , come of us have had great ownership experiences and have memories ;)

Mind you the women proposition did change uo a gear as I moved from Escorts>MG's>911s

Bit now I think im returning to my youth , Oh well back to the teenage sex syndrome I guess , everyones talking about it but no ones actually truthfully doing it..

A bit like this thread…lets get back to ogling cars and not buying them :)

Turbo /Peter M as for depreciation and economies , its a while since I worked in the market but I think if you watch the resources market , resources stocks , our exports and things like the china/india money and the recent crashes you will see a slow in our market in houses and then cars ..

Things are forgotten quickly and i dont think we have seen the effects of this headline

Jan 12 - China Markets Live - Hong Kong stocks fall to lowest close since 2012

Lots of factors , although we have a very false market here for cars and houses as their are limited numbers of premium properties and porsches and a steady influx of people coming to the land of plenty and away from the manic chaos of Asia and other let alone other countries driving demand

Whats the tag line on the old porsche add , there are no old porsche , just new owners or something like that

Ogle..and derail B) Just got notice of one of these just restored in Tassie and will be on view next month. Now that would be the ultimate chick magnet , 18 or 80 (unlike a 911 I must say, from my anthropological observations). Ladies love a stylish classic eh? My new daughter in law says the gullwing looks like a 911 "at the back". She is a good daughter in law and likes cars , thus she will be allowed to drive them.

The 6 owners since her have all been male and flogged the sh*t out of it.

Gotta lurve the MBenz seat covers.

I think it means she is the 3rd owner ... and a lady.

Had a chat to her - she's awesome. Has had it for 27 years and did the RS conversion on it 20 or so years ago when the original 2,0 engine started blowing smoke.

All steel guards ...

Forgot to ask her if she kept the original 2,0 ...

Amazing how many people sell off their sports car when they have a small one on the way! In most cases (certainly P cars) there is a child seat/ system to suit....

Now that is a sexy car... But considering they are asking around $2m for them now, I don't think they are quite in reach for me.

Can't recall this being discussed.  Wasn't long ago RSR were selling a couple of cars like this for $80k, and they were G50 cars.

No chance a narrow body cab (non M491) will sell for that money.Tthe Coupes would be close to that price point!

I wonder what happens to the 997tt in the midst of all this? If 996's are occupying the mid 100's, with gen 1 997's only 10-15% more, do they start to climb in price to? It's almost as if anything of the slightest merrit now has a base price of $100k upwards. It really is an amazing time to be buying second hand p-cars. Depreciation is dead people!

^^^ if the GT3 market is anything to go by, 997TTw will shift upwards a little but not a lot. 996 TTs (like the GT3) were heavily undervalued for quite a while.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well Symsy seems like the seller heard you and dropped the price by 8000.

No wonder the 996TT Man coupes had to rise in price, they were seriously undervalued for what they are. Who knows what they are actually selling for,

Referring to Good original 996.2 Man Coupes - I mean if a 996Gt3 is advertised at $225000 and sold could we expect to knock 10%? 15% off that price? I guess you could expect to knock !0% of a 996TT man coupe price and that brings them in at around $75000 less than a GT3. Seriously there is no way a turbo should be that much less.... I think the 997.1TT man coupes will drop another 10K over the next year to around $170000 and bottom out and then start the slow march upward whilst the 996 TT will grow another $10000 ....they'll always be around $30000 apart over the next 5 years till they all get a bit older.... waiting for some delayed funds and then there will; be a 996.2TT in my garage!

@sandy468 I think the reason for 996 GT3s being x amount more than a turbo purely comes down to numbers made. its also due in part to GT3 having racing pedigree etc which usually heightens the emotions of the fanboys! Largely though, there are many fewer GT3s world wide than turbos and rarity is often the biggest driver of the collector market. Is a GT3 a 75K better car than a turbo? Probably not but both cars are totally different and perhaps its a bit like comparing apples with oranges?

A big part of me wishes this 996 hysteria hadn't come so soon, I never intended on selling my car any time soon but the guilt of enjoying it properly sees it spending more time with a cover on it than being driven.

What's that thing on the roof of her car?

Let's get some Panamera love happening :D I don't care what anyone thinks I would love one of these in my driveway http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Porsche-Panamera-2015/OAG-AD-12251731/?Cr=1 A little bit cheaper (a whole hell of a lot!) would be nice though :)

Let's see , you can have the car if you get the d74355d2f0334cf2845e95103f12ff16.jpg

Yes, I know you'll pay for rarity but around 160 x GT3's (excl RS) delivered Australia? Versus around 300 x 996TT (excl Turbo S)? But then subtract autos and then cabs and auto cabs and you're left with around 125 x 996TT Man Coupes? That's around the same delivery as 993 TT's. I know the autos and cabs will tarnish that "rarity" a bit, but comparing apples and apples, all 3 series of Man coupes are as rare as the other.

And agreed, GT3's are the flavour of the month / flavour of the year, and I get why and I get the hype, but around a year back they were only $10K to $20K more than a TT Man Coupe. All things considered I think it's more like comparing Granny Smiths and Pink Ladies....
