928 manual newly added to CS:

Not a lot of detail to go on...

Not sure if that is a new one or a re-hashed ad...?? Seems about the norm these days, stick a mid 20s price on a 928 and hope for the best. Don't see too many moving though..,. Would like them to!!

I'm sure that one's been for sale for a while.

Also, re the ambitiously priced 928S and 944 seemingly from the same seller, who is a private seller and just writes ads like a dealer honest Guv, they both look like they were photographed at Curl Curl on the Northern Beaches. In other words, nowhere near a Sydney 2000 postcode. Both ads just smack of someone trying something on - there just seems to be a level of info missing.

Have to say that if any of those 928 S4 were manual, rather than auto, then I'd be tempted.

Me 2 , 3, 4, and 5

Whats the SI plate mean in other states  ..only driveable in events x 52 days.. or like NSW rally reg or something…not sure how to get it along to cars and coffee as a roadie :) I wonder how anyone ever gets these cars registered in all states.

It is Tassie's historic/ classic rego scheme SI = Special Interest. 52 log booked days a year to drive where ever you want and no requirement to join any club. Half price rego ~ $300. Considering it for my 928 but not sure there are enough advantages now.... had my 67 Merc on it, but I plan to use the 928 more. If it qualifies for that here it should qualify for any other state (has to pass full rego inspection here)

I'm sure that one's been for sale for a while.

S4 manual would be rare.... The GT with ~400km is the manual S4. GT was introduced in 1989 - after that all S4s were auto and the GT was the manual 928 until the GTS came along.

Really nice looking car, although the wheels aren't my personal taste. I always get a little concerned by the lower power of the US cars, and would like to know more about the lack of books. If it all checks out and passes a ppi, it could be a good buy for somebody.

This was talked about a few weeks/months ago. I recall those that looked at it saying that it had no documentation and that something didn't quite add up and the seller not being very forthcoming with the missing details.  I agree, looks nice though, bar the wheels, and the price seems to already reflect the conversion, guards, books and wheels.

Blimey, a Ripspeed steering wheel, haven't seen one of those for donkeys years !!

For $48k if it checked out ok I'd give it a go. Looks a tidy car.

Begs the question how much of that salt has done it's work.  Are those vents under the dash after market?

Very much after market vents. The car should be well chilled! I am considering vents similar to that myself.

Looks a neat car but I am cautious when I see words and pricing like that. If you consider that a good SC Oz delivered with that spec and km's could be an $80k car, that is a very handy discount. Too big a discount? People don't tend to under value their cars so maybe there is something to make it worth that price. I would be looking at the salt damage, plus a question in the mileage - is the clock now in kms (new clock?)
