Cal Posted 23September, 2014 Report Share Posted 23September, 2014 That really sux. That is a seriously well sorted car. I drove it when Paul had it for sale on the Gold Coast. I hope he gets it back in one piece.
911barber Posted 23September, 2014 Report Share Posted 23September, 2014 Heart breaking, hope its found fast! I'm guessing this would be broken up pretty fast for parts, I'm also guessing someone that has one already wants the bits to improve his/her car. Justifies my paranoia and extreme measures i take security wise.

Coastr Posted 24September, 2014 Report Share Posted 24September, 2014 For those of use who don't know, is Wantirna in QLD or Victoria? This worries me - I thought thieves wouldn't normally worry with old Porsches but I guess there is a healthy parts market out there.

LeeM Posted 24September, 2014 Report Share Posted 24September, 2014 From what I read, it was driven away, clipped another car and a WRX was an accomplice that also hit a car so the Porsche could get away. Assholes
Orion03 Posted 24September, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 24September, 2014 Victoria and my mate says: "Sadly it was a pretty violent theft, that luckily didn't end with someone being seriously hurt. It seems that Wantirna/Knox/Bayswater is a hot spot for race cars to get stolen." Very very sad.

firstone Posted 24September, 2014 Report Share Posted 24September, 2014 Nice.... Work hard, save, research and get lucky enough purchase one of today's beautiful automobiles and have some grub who couldn't spell integrity take it and dismantle it so no one can treasure it. I hope this isn't the outcome for it. Very sad for your mate... I've long considered an after market immobilizer and tracking device.
espskk Posted 24September, 2014 Report Share Posted 24September, 2014 Gday Orion 03. If I was your mate I would be contacting one of the news or current affairs shows. If the car is not already in a Thousand pieces then some one will know where it is.Cheers Steve
hugh Posted 24September, 2014 Report Share Posted 24September, 2014 There is info circulating around social media in relation to this car. News travels fast via interwebs, hopefully fast enough to catch up with the car.
Orion03 Posted 24September, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 24September, 2014 I've got a 997, and if it got stolen, I'll take the insurance $ and get another one.... it's somehow worse for the old cars since I feel they are not that easily replaced, especially after you do a lot of work to the car to get it how you like it. It sucks big time for my mates car to be stolen in such a violent manner. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their nether regions!
tazzieman Posted 24September, 2014 Report Share Posted 24September, 2014 May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their nether regions! They were probably there before the theft. Get the voodoo doll out instead. Meanwhile others consider e.g. http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=LA9011
sleazius Posted 25September, 2014 Report Share Posted 25September, 2014 I'd be pissed if someone stole my 997, and they basically give you one with a happy meal at McDonalds. Finding something that you've been looking for for years, and then having it stolen ... gah. They should bring back disembowelment for this. tazzieman Posted 25September, 2014 Report Share Posted 25September, 2014 . They should bring back disembowelment for this. Doesn't work for gutless wonders like those thieves.
