Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Should get more pics today.

Why cats, is it in the rules ??

No, they simply replace the mufflers - just an expansion chamber really - 100 cell cat.  As close to a straight through system as we can get away with.

"Rules"? Erm, I'll check them out ...

Apparently these are NOT Skiddy's toes.

Thanks PC.  Again.

Much hard work from Shaun Cairns at Werks Garage and Clint and the team at Skunkwerks has the old girl up and running again.

The toes belong to Shaun aka “the OH&S bandit” ...

We ran out of time to get it on the dyno so we’ve booked one in Albury tomorrow en route so we can check the mixtures.   As you do ...

Hopefully we’ll get a good overall number but I’m more looking for the torque gain from the headers and exhaust system.  I need everything I can get up and down the hill!

The aim of the weekend is to have fun, talk car rubbish, hang out with mates and just soak in having the opportunity to go balls out on the best race track in the country.

it's a bit late now for this weekend, but if you got rid of the garish orange and went to a screaming yellow, it'd increase to at least 510kw straight away.....colour can influence engine output - it's been proven time and again.

Colour aside, it sounds great.  Good luck skidmarks.

Those are are some impressive numbers I know who to come and see when I want a mean air cooled motor ............Enjoy the racing and best of luck

Thanks.  But the gods of speed have dictated a non start.  Broken ring gear and no replacement available.  Rules say (for good reason) that I’d you can’t start the car independently then your not allowed on track.

Shit happens.

Met some great guys in Lithgow who helped us on the dyno. Properly good people who pulled an all nighter for us to sort out MSD issues.

Its one of the great things about motorsport.  The people you meet.

sorry to hear that was really looking forward to seeing you on the mountain ...I am familiar with the rule about being able to start own power etc,,,I would clutch start the car and get her on track regardless .....just don't stall it and if you do act clueless

Wasn’t me ...

That's a shame Sven, interested to know how the ring gear failed. Was it replaced during the rebuild?

No.  We cranked the engine a lot when chasing ignition issues and a tooth said “enough” and others went out in sympathy ...

That's a real shame Sven after all the effort to get her back together... so thinking the plan now is for a few more drinks, relax and enjoy the weekend with mates.

Absolutely.

And just watched my team stick all 4 of its cars in the top 10 so actually a VERY good day.
