sorry just saw your post - thats my old car, awesome example with original paint when i had it & im sure it hasnt changed

Better than......

i owned a 81 911 sc coupe & then went straight to the 944S2.

the 911 was much more of a gocart which was fun, but the S2 was a better all round car (much quicker on the track due to its brakes & ballance - for me anyway)

I'm glad I owned a AC 911 but I wouldnt have another.

I rang about that car and they couldn't answer me some important questions that are crucial to these cars, maybe they have their act together now with that info.

If you had it 14 years ago it's changed hands a couple of times since then so whatever you did may be irrelevant now.

How many owners up to you?

depends what you want to know, but current owner bought it off the guy I sold it to.

one or 2 owners before me - when i had it, it was immaculate/near showroom condition - so it would be quite easy to judge the life its had since I had it.

One of the new PFA guys looked at this last time it was on. The seller was really keen until our bloke mentioned wanting a PPI at Buchannan's, the seller said something similar to "Don't contact me again" and hung up. More than a few issues with this car I am guessing............

When i was first looking several years ago pretty sure there were about 38 944's for sale and at least a dozen were S2's.

I have a 1982 June build and having done a few searches only found 2 others for sale out of a few hundred. All other things being equal does being a very early car make it worth a bit more?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately not .....

The more valuable 944's are the update ones which were released in late 1985 and on .... they are known as 85.5.

I'm not totally sure on all of the changes between the 2 but the big one was the interior .... it is far more modern than the first series, more sought after and valuable ..... the S2 (1989 and on) is more sought after again .... there is plenty of information on the net regarding the different models.

The 911 aircooled model has the same weird hierarchy ... my thoughts are that as time goes on, any version will be sought after due to dwindling numbers ....

I'm not so sure Ronnie, i think the early cars will become more valuable especially the ones that aer looked after.

There is a guy i met recently who has an  Aug '82 build and the car is a stunner, one of the nicest early cars i have seen, 130,000 odd km and an original interior, these are the cars that will hold value i think coming up to the 40yr anniversary.

I know you're right regarding the values increasing .... I'm confident that will happen regardless of which model car it is,  but the question was is an early car worth more because it's an early build car. What are your thoughts on that?

hey Justin, was the dealers name Scott?

No wasn't Scott. I think I know the Brisbane Porsche dealer named Scott that you're thinking of though. He sold the red 89 Turbo a while back.

This car is with Superior Automotive Group (the new owners of T&D Auto.
