spiller Posted 26June, 2021 Report Share Posted 26June, 2021 @Rick V what happened to the drop links? I hear you on that spring weather. I haven’t looked at my car for 4 weeks.
Jason A Posted 26June, 2021 Report Share Posted 26June, 2021 Common issue for front sway bar drop links to fail, consumable part on a GT3 that gets driven

I’m sure there’s a few usual suspects on here that’d be up for it. spiller and williamsf1

Jason A Posted 26June, 2021 Report Share Posted 26June, 2021 It’s a pretty simple DIY, just use a trailer ratchet strap to secure the sway bar to suspension to anchor- then unbolt and replace

The cup car comes with a road car link on one side and a beefed up adjustable link on the other side (left hand side). I’ve never had one of the road car ones fail on my cup. I have a spare set of motorsport ones here that I’d like to fit to the road car. Does the sway bar have to be loaded (i.e. weight on the suspension) when tightening the drop link nut or can it be done with the car off the ground? What’s the purpose of the ratchet strap? Jason A Posted 27June, 2021 Report Share Posted 27June, 2021 You need to unload the tension on the sway bar as you will most likely have the car jacked up with wheel off. Better to secure first saver a lot of stuffing around and is safer

spiller Posted 22July, 2021 Report Share Posted 22July, 2021 With lockdown in SA there wasn’t much else to do than fit an RS wing. This one is a replica and was built to order in Belgium. If anyone wants the details let me know. Quality of the fit and finish is OEM and the price was very good. tomo, edgy, hugh and 4 others 6

Shedpest Posted 24July, 2021 Report Share Posted 24July, 2021 Yep Essex AP, and as @mc968cs mentioned, last longer, lighter, no heat cracking from the drilled OEM and most importantly they look sexier. @spiller staying with this set up
mc968cs Posted 24July, 2021 Report Share Posted 24July, 2021 -2D…..That’s not very much front camber on a GT3…..you can double that on semi slicks or good road tyres and the car handles it - loves it actually…. hugh
