Recommended Posts

AI, northerners have pretty much settled on last Sunday of each month, meet at Blue Cafe Invermay 9.00, for a drive & then coffee or lunch etc.  Send me a PM and I'll get your email address added to the distribution list

Good to see you still have yours! Lovely machine. I better dust off mine and go for a hit sometime soon.. maybe head out for a coffee if any north Launy folk interested? I'll need a couple of weeks first.. got some window wiring to sort as I ripped the old switches off in a bad mood cause they were shit. I have new ones to install - "that wire goes there, oh no it doesn't.. oh shit, why is there smoke coming from behind my door!".

That's no way to treat an old lady:o

Sounds good mate.  I've moved on from the 993 but it's still a Porsche ;-)

Just come across a car that has been serviced by Goodride Tyres & Mechanical in Revesby, Sydney for ther last few years.  Have not heard them noted as a Porsche Specialist, any feedback?

that's down the road from my factory, they are definitely not a Porsche specialist.

White tippa? Looks good, not keen on the 997 wheels but well priced and low k's. Wouldn't be worried about the last couple of 'minor services' at Goodride, only been their a few times over the last 3 or 4 thousand k's. But yeah would still be getting a thorough PPI.

If you're still looking for a manual 996 to take for a spin and you're visiting Melbourne you're welcome to have a go in my mk1 C2.

Stunning colour

Sure, it may be a Porsche manufactured in West Germany, and originally delivered to the very same country of West Germany but it is still .....  a dodgy LHD import - Oh the irony!

For me, I don't care if this car is LHD or RHD or came via the Porsche dealer channel or otherwise.  BUT even though only having been on this forum for a shortwhile, I do know that all of these aspects are very important to some, and there will be those out there who won't say it's trash but will say that it's not be worth anything like the other ones that came in via a dealer.

Does anyone know of a tidy 968 for sale?

Mine is not for sale but if it was, I'd have to offer it to Edgy first :P (but of course mine is a tipper which means for many people it's not actually a proper Porsche anyway)

Dealer reckons he's had "a hundred calls" on it today, not interested in holding it for me to get up weekend after next as he reckons it will sell today.  Guess I can understand that.  Agree with you on the wheels.  Dealer said he put them on when he sold the car to the owner in 2008.

DT that's a generous offer which I may take you up on.  Will PM you if and when.  But have found there is a manual cabrio in Hobart, going down for a P club dinner on Friday night, might just have to take it for a test drive on Saturday.......
