SteamWolf Posted 20December, 2014 Report Share Posted 20December, 2014 The smog pump is in excellent working order. The paint has overspray and the interior is a bit shabby. Was all looking like a good project base until I found the rust between the front suspension pivots. Do not want. What, in the pan? Is that common from bad drainage or something else? This was a galvanised car being a 77, right?
Russ Posted 20December, 2014 Report Share Posted 20December, 2014 i remember the first 911 i ever looked at, was apparently a 78 and you could put a screwdriver through the torsion bar mounts... clutch-monkey

OZ930 Posted 20December, 2014 Report Share Posted 20December, 2014 This is so cheap? Might be a bargain, might be a nightmare? http://www.justauto....acktext=Results Project to convert back to normal if it is a real 930It's a 78 930 fitted with a DP Motorsport kit, 3.3 litre Kremer engine with adjustable waste gate control between the seats. DP and Kremer worked together to produce these cars. Originally a Silver 930 with black interior delivered new to Ireland where it was converted, painted white and a red interior fitted. Imported into Australia by two brothers, when ? not sure. They had it up for sale but I don't know whether it sold then. A year or so later it showed up in a scam.CAUTIONI have just checked my photos and this photo is the same as that used in the scam of December, 2011 the Ad itself confirms this (Previous) DESCRIPTION Porsche 1978, 930 Turbo. Factory right hand drive, fitted with a 935 body kit, car is in excellent condition, photos speak for themselves, all 4 tyres as new rego till 4/2012 Well, it looks like they have updated the rego expiry, now 4/2015. It really gets around. Originally, the real car, was in Sydney then it appeared in scams located in Gunnedah, Darwin, Lake MacQuarie, and a couple of other places, now QLD. Always seems to appear around this time of year doing the rounds of the car sale sites. The seller has no history of sales either Dont try and ring the guy, no answer. Email gets….working on an oil rig, if you want to inspect it….car has been moved... etc Yes, it's a SCAM I pity the real owner of this car. This 993 just turned up: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-911-Carrera-1996/SSE-AD-3168905/?Cr=4&sdmvc=1 On trend, it's on the high $ side as well as being a long way from home (I'm in VIC)

If you like the car book an air fare as this may not last long and they don't come up that often. Whoever buys the car needs to ditch the rear wing though! Hi Mike, I might take you up on that. Any suggestions for a PPI in Brisbane if it comes to that? Difficult over the holiday period with most places closed till 5 Jan at the earliest. Mike D'Silva Posted 21December, 2014 Report Share Posted 21December, 2014 what about this one? http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-911-Carrera-1994/SSE-AD-3162075/?Cr=3&sdmvc=1 I think the only places for ppi in brisbane are T&D, DHM Auto Solutions, and the Porsche Centre Brisbane itself... tk111 Posted 21December, 2014 Report Share Posted 21December, 2014 what about this one?http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-911-Carrera-1994/SSE-AD-3162075/?Cr=3&sdmvc=1 . That seems incredibly well priced to me, even with an engine rebuild factored in the next few years.

But seriously 100k for a 993 is just ridiculous. 100k will allow you to sort through a variety of 997s.1 and if you look hard enough even a 997.2 PDK arguably a better car anyway you look at it. These air cooled prices are getting out of hand..that's my morning rant, back on with my day I get...

Coastr Posted 21December, 2014 Report Share Posted 21December, 2014 $62k for a 993 6 speed is not at all on the high side. I would say it's downright reasonable, even if you have to tip in 15k for major work. There are plenty of 87-89 3.2s being advertised for that sort of money, some with same sort of mileage.
