Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

Recommended Posts

Anyone happen to know anything this Gen 2 Cayman S in Canberra?  I guess 85,000km is fairly heavy use for a 4-5 year old Porsche . . .

I think it is very likely that this would be a daily driver given Canberra is a very car based city. With good local roads and a few weekend trips I don't think 20,000kms a year is extraordinary use.

Hi Steve,

The car has been on the market for some time (12 months + ?). It has been discussed on here several times as it appears to be priced well but I haven't been able to establish the reason as to why it hasn't sold - I'm guessing there is more to it than meets the eye and something is lurking beneath?

Would be curious to know how you go if you do indeed get to inspect the car, best of luck!

You're probably right.  20,000 a year is definitely higher than you see on most Aussie Caymans, but many probably aren't daily drivers.  From what I've read the Gen 2 is a very reliable engine so 85,000km probably shouldn't stress me out, esp if it's mostly highway miles.

Anyone have an opinion on the price ($70k for a 2010 Cayman S)?

Congrats. Drive it home. It's the best trip you will make. And you get to know the car so well by the time you get home. You can bunk in Sydney at mine if you need.

Do it ! You know you want to. .
